For more than 5500 people with kidney failure in Sudan, access to dialysis is the difference between life and death.
I am deeply grateful to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through @KSRelief_EN, for its generous US$5 million contribution, enabling @WHO to sustain lifesaving dialysis services across Sudan.
This is the power of partnership in action. Together, we are protecting essential health services for those who need them most, even in the most challenging circumstances, and reaffirming our shared commitment to health, hope and dignity for all.

I feel fine, so I must be healthy, right?
Not necessarily. Be one step ahead of illness or pain.

During my recent visit to 🇵🇰, I was deeply moved to learn about two children living with paralytic polio whose cases had been examined by our @WHOPakistan team.
Unfortunately, their lives have been changed forever by a disease we have the knowledge and vaccines to prevent.
As a paediatrician and as a mother, I am determined to work with governments, health workers and partners to ensure these children are among the last ever affected by polio.

Infants cannot express themselves and need protection in the heat.
Make sure to:
✅Dress children in light, loose-fitting clothes that cover their skin
✅Use wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses and sunscreen for children above 6 months
✅Stay indoors or in the shade. Shade can reduce felt temperatures by 10 °C
✅Keep your home cool
Do not:
❌ Leave children in parked vehicles. Temperatures can get dangerously high
❌Go out during peak sun hours
❌ Cover an infant stroller/pram with dry fabric. This makes it hotter inside the carriage. Instead, use wet, thin cloth and dampen as necessary to lower the temperature. For extra cooling, use a portable fan
