BY ALL MEANS DEFEND FILMS LIKE SATLUJ. SCREEN IT. BUT DON'T HIDE FROM THE FACT THAT IT REWRITES HISTORY TO PAINT THE INDIAN STATE UNFAIRLY AS A BLACK SHEEP. IT IS A POLITICAL PROJECT. ADMIT IT. The filmmakers say Satluj is educational. It purports to tell the story of a rights activist who was abducted and killed by security forces for seeking justice for victims of extrajudicial killings. Yes, they happened and they shouldn't have. But in its retelling the film is being faulted for not showing the "whole truth". Education cannot be based on half-truths. There's another side. 1. Pakistan's ISI propped up Khalistani terrorist groups with training, sanctuary and logistical support. This was a transnational movement to balkanise India. The film needs to present this unapologetically. 2. Innocent men were co-opted and coerced by Khalistani terror organisations in the name of religion to pick up arms for an invented cause. Many became perpetrators of extraordinary brutality. They strode into village homes committing wanton murders and extortion, intimidating entire communities. In other words, they adopted means that are deemed blasphemous in Sikhism. 3. The film should have also depicted how Pakistan-sponsored Khalistani terrorists targeted thousands of innocent families for their loyalty to the idea of India. Sikh policemen, village defence volunteers, public servants, journalists and ordinary citizens were marked for death because they stood by the Indian Union. 4. The film could have also belaboured the murderous zeal that prompted the blowing up of trains, planes, cinema halls and restaurants. The bombing of Air India Flight 182, which killed 329 people, remains one of the deadliest acts of aviation terrorism in history. No cause can justify such extrajudicial means. 5. The film should have also focussed on how security forces led by KPS Gill not only defeated the insurgency but also secured the surrender and rehabilitation of large numbers of Sikh youth willing to lay down arms. 6. What about the sacrifices made by families of security personnel who were heinously "punished" by Khalistani terror groups simply for standing in solidarity with the Indian Union? 7. No retelling of history can be complete without also focussing on the xenophobic zealotry of Khalistani terrorists who singled out hundreds, if not thousands, of Hindus simply because of their identity. • The 1983 Dhilwan bus massacre (6 killed) • The 1987 Lalru bus massacre (38 Hindu passengers killed) • The 1987 Fatehabad bus killings (34 killed) • The 1991 Punjab train massacres, in which 125 Hindu passengers were killed. 1. Watching Satluj you'd never know that Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale continues to be revered as a martyr by sections of the Sikh community and that his portrait hangs within the precincts of the Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikh authority. Why? In homage to what? This isn't an argument against making Satluj. But remember just as every victim deserves to be remembered, every truth alao deserves to be told.

KPS Gill spent last yrs in Vrindavan looking after cows. He knew Sikh Granth was one big ode to Shri Krishna, Vedant & Vaishnavism. His ONLY regret in life was not being sent to Kashmir. He was confident he’d have eradicated terrorism there as he did in Punjab & reversed the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus Alas..

Here’s the traditional method of making kukum. The primary ingredient is turmeric, along with vengaram, kasi katti, spatigam, and lemon juice. It is prepared in either an earthen plate or a copper plate and then sun-dried for 3–4 days. Thanks to Karge, I wouldn't have uploaded this video (from 22) at all. Please feel free to make your own kukum at home. We are greatful to Maha Periyava, who gave us this sacred recipe.
Shilpa@shilpa_cn

“Kumkum is made out of kesar, 90% of kesar comes from Islamic countries. So will they stop wearing tilak?” - Priyank Kharge Fact: Kumkum is not made from saffron. Mocking a sacred Hindu symbol using misinformation is disgraceful. Would he dare do this with any other religion?

They were those newly married women who came to pray at Golden Temple but never went back. The same guys who were sitting in the Temple complex collecting ransom were doing all this. Do you know who she is? Don’t stress yourself — you don’t know! She is Priya Kumari. She was just 5 years old. She went missing while serving water at a Sabeel (refreshment stall) during Muharram in 2021 in Sindh, Pakistan. 5 years have passed. No one knows her whereabouts. * No investigations *No human rights * No accountability *No candle marches The Hindu family grieves in immense pain, looking for closure. They think she is alive, held captive, and converted. This is how…Can You Reply? @TheTreeni

Speak about art and beautiful installations, and you would think of a gallery. For experiencing culture, maybe you will look for a heritage trail. Assam offers all three. And in one place you would least expect. At Guwahati Airport, a series of art installations welcome you with a glimpse of the culture, craftsmanship and soul of the region. The Wings of Hornbill represent freedom and grace — a tribute to one of the region's most iconic birds. The Lotus Bloom, crafted from locally sourced bamboo, honours the region’s rich botanical diversity. The Rising Water reflects the enduring spirit of the Brahmaputra that has sustained generations by nurturing biodiversity and providing livelihoods. And the Chai Bagan pays a glowing tribute to Assam's centuries-old tea-growing tradition through brass figures and embroidered landscapes.

In fact, just one day before his arrest, Tinnu Yadav had spoken to Akhilesh Yadav on the phone 3 times. Now, Tinnu Yadav, who was a tempo driver and had infiltrated as a Vishwa Hindu Parishad worker at the Ram Temple to gain trust and was involved in counting the offerings, why was he in contact with Akhilesh Yadav? This is an extremely sensational matter and subject to investigation.

INDIA BEYOND HORMUZ: BUILDING LEAP TOWARDS STRATEGIC ASSETS FOR ENERGY AUTONOMY. PM Modi inaugurated HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) at Pachpadra, Balotra. More than any characteristic the refinery is a strategic asset. As India imports over 85% of its crude, a refinery capable of processing multiple grades of oil gives New Delhi the flexibility to source from Russia, the Gulf, the US or elsewhere based on price and geopolitics. HPCL's integrated petrochemical complex also moves India up the value chain. It helps boosting manufacturing and exports. In an era of supply shocks, muscular sanctions diplomacy and a disruptive reminder from the Strait of Hormuz, Pachpadra will strengthen India's energy security, strategic autonomy and economic resilience.

Vipin Kumar is an Indian construction worker in Romania. One day, while he was walking near Nicolae Romanescu Park in Craiova, he saw a girl slip through a thin layer of ice and start struggling in the sub-zero water. Her father tried to reach her but became trapped in the broken ice. Without any hesitation, Vipin used a nearby sledge to slide toward her. When the ice broke beneath him as well, he plunged into the freezing water, managed to grab the child, and held her above the surface for nearly 30 minutes until emergency crews arrived. Both Vipin and the girl suffered severe hypothermia and were rushed to the hospital, where they received treatment. Romania granted honorary citizenship to Vipin Kumar for his bravery and for risking his own life to save the girl. Nowadays, social media is filled with hate against India, and Indians are increasingly being targeted. But when stories like this emerge, they rarely receive the same attention. They are not shared as widely, and somewhere along the way, these stories get buried and forgotten.

Hindu victim of ethnic cleansing and pogroms returns to her Kashmir home after 36 years. 36 long years after being expelled en masse by extremist Muslims, an elderly Kashmiri Hindu woman returned to her ancestral home in Danew, Kulgam (98.49% Muslim majority). The moment she stepped into her courtyard, time seemed to stand still. She bent down, touched the soil she had been separated from for decades, and kissed the old walnut tree that had silently witnessed her childhood, her memories, and her absence. Overcome with emotion, she broke down in tears. She knelt before the tree, folded her hands in prayer, and embraced it as if she were reuniting with a beloved family member lost to time. With a trembling voice, she whispered in Kashmiri: “Che cheya b’e yaad?” (“Do you remember me?”) A question not just to a tree, but to a home, a homeland, and a lifetime of memories left behind. One of the most heart-wrenching scenes you will ever witness, a reminder that exile may separate people from their homes, but never from their roots. 36+ years of forced exodus from homeland Kashmir. Hope the world remembers the pogroms and ethnic cleansing against Hindus. - via social media

BRUTAL TAKE DOWN BY A VINDICATED PM MODI. "THEY TRIED TO FRIGHTEN PEOPLE, BUT INDIA'S DIPLOMACY SAVED THE DAY. OUR FRIENDSHIPS SAVED THE DAY" Prime Minister Narendra Modi: "Attempts were made to frighten and mislead people. Political games were played. Yet, those with malicious intent did not succeed. Even in remote areas, apart from minor hiccups, there were no major challenges regarding supply. Between April and June alone, companies had to absorb a loss exceeding Rs 75,000 crore on diesel and petrol... The burden of covering this loss was borne by the public exchequer. We also reduced the excise duty by RS 10 per litre, ensuring the public did not face an excessive burden. During this very period of war, India’s friendships with other nations proved invaluable. Before the crisis began, India imported fuel and energy from only twenty-five or twenty-six countries. However, the crisis showcased the prowess of Indian diplomacy... Amidst the war, India began sourcing fuel from over forty countries. India sent a clear message to the world that national interest and the welfare of its citizens are paramount
