@TheSweetTeaMama All good stuff here, but I would also add a tracking sheet you can write everyone's name on before you sign the book. Spelling the person's name is so important, and so easy to get wrong when you're signing so many at once. I use the sheet to check as I'm writing in the book.

WHY ARE BLURBS SO MUCH HARDER TO WRITE THAN THE BOOK?

@sarina_langer They didn't say anything! I think they're choosing to ignore it, and so am I 😂 Next week I might casually mention that I'm a writer and sometimes research weird things for my books.

I'm back in research mode for my writing, reading obscure fairy tales that had belonged to my grandmother when she was a girl. It's really interesting to see the popular fairy tales back then compared with now.

I was wondering why bitters bottles always have these jacked up old fashioned labels on em. Turns out the brothers behind this brand were entering their recipe in a contest like a hundred years ago. One brother worked on the bottle and the other the label. At game time they realized they were different sizes. They slapped the label on and entered it anyway. They lost the contest but a judge pulled em aside and told em the wonky label made their product stand out. They kept doing it and not only is Angostura one of the biggest brands in the space, their aesthetic dominates the category.

My friend sent me the most naive message today: "Help I need book recommendations for my son!" She was NOT ready for that conversation 😂 (But I have a bunch of books I'm sending her way)

Anyone else's parents send them the thumbs up when you reply to the message they sent you in the first place???

I love writing first drafts. I was just stuck on how to word the scene so I just wrote a basic summary of what happens in it. It's future Ash's problem now!

@ShanLScott Thank you 😊 I was there with my books 2021 too! I also exhibited 2017 and 2018 but have mostly been taking a break since I had my son and I miss it so much!

I've booked accommodation for Supanova, I have copies of my books ready to go, I have a shiny new banner...now to wait 2 months until the event. Can you tell I'm eager to get back out there to chat with readers?
