Older forms of estradiol (especially oral ones) did have significant blood clotting risks, but newer bioidentical ones really don’t. Yes estrogen as a whole is a “blood clot risk” but the increased risk is an exaggeration nowadays.

@crunkcore @msribcagetaper I’d personally say fuck it, but if you have a provider who’s guiding you, I’d ask them first. I’d also recommend splitting your dosage to twice a week so the lows aren’t so low and so long. I have heard valerate falls off hard ~day 6 so once weekly causes 1-2 days of LOW estrogen

@ZeroSuitDani I am 4 months on HRT. I got the okay to stop taking my Spiro a few weeks go. I’m doing 7mg estradiol valerate once a week. We’ll see how successful it was when I do bloodwork next. My t was consistently below 30 while on Spiro so I’m hoping I wont have to get back on it

Research shows that is not true. 6mg of pills will almost always result in less estrogen levels than 6mg of injections. Blood clotting is a risk, but they over exaggerate it. Bioidentical injections are very safe

@transgenerismo I highly recommend exploring your options for providers. The 100-200 range doesnt guarantee adequate feminization; it’s old science. The most recent guidelines says to stay in the “c!s female range”not “maintain 100-200pg/mL”. My current provider is willing to maintain ~300pg/mL
