🚨 What They Knew and When: Bracknell Forest Labour Councillors Internal documents reveal exactly who knew what and how early about serious safeguarding concerns involving Cllr Naheed Ejaz’s son, Diwan Khan. 11 January 2024 Council Leader Cllr Mary Temperton and Cllr Roy Bailey met with Cllr Ejaz and agreed she must immediately step back from all Mayoral duties. 12 January 2024 Senior cabinet members Guy Gillbe and Iskandar Jefferies were sent a detailed email about the full allegations against Diwan Khan, including a serious sexual offence, his arrest, bail conditions, taxi licence revocation, and his long criminal history going back to 2006. The same day, the “she is unwell” line was first used publicly and internally. 15 January 2024 Labour Whip Georgia Pickering was briefed on the Code of Conduct complaint being prepared against Cllr Ejaz. 31 January 2024 Cllrs Temperton and Bailey attended another meeting with Cllr Ejaz where the allegations against her son were directly discussed. Yet from 12 January onwards, Labour told members and the public that Cllr Ejaz was simply “unwell”. 18 March 2024 Cllr Mary Temperton admitted in writing: “We have only told all members up to now that she was ‘unwell’ ” …even though Mary and Roy clearly knew there was a wider issue. By this point senior Labour figures including Council Leader Mary Temperton, CLP Chairman Roy Bailey, Guy Gillbe and Iskandar Jefferies, and Labour Whip Georgia Pickering all had a very clear picture of exactly who Diwan Khan was. Cllr Ejaz had personally recruited her son as her Mayoral consort. Yet Temperton and Bailey took no action to remove her whip or suspend her from the Labour Group. There is no record of any meaningful reaction from Gillbe, Jefferies or Pickering despite knowing the full sordid history. Now in 2026 Diwan Khan has been sentenced to 12 years in prison plus a further 5 years extended on licence for the rape of a 15 year old girl. His mother Naheed Ejaz was jailed for 3 years for perverting the course of justice after she helped him hide a key piece of evidence, his mobile phone, which has still not been located. She showed no remorse. During sentencing remarks the Judge directly referenced a character reference provided by another Labour Councillor, Gerry Webb. This not only brings the Labour Party into disrepute but also undermines her own role as a Councillor. Where was the transparency from Bracknell Labour? #BracknellForest #Labour #WhatTheyKnewWhen

I am hugely disappointed that @PDJSwallow and other @UKLabour MPs voted last night in favour of continuing vexatious complaints against veterans and putting them back in the dock. They claim to be supportive of HM Forces & their families. They are no such thing. @GBNEWS @TalkTV

Mandelson may not have passed UKSV, other questions still remain... Why did Starmer think it was appropriate, to give a close acquaintance of Epstine... any role in government? That alone makes @Keir_Starmer unsuitable to be PM. Pack your bags sunshine... you're done!

Never heard so much tosh in my life! Are we seriously ment to believe that no politician within Labour, not a junior minister, not the foreign secretary at the time #DavidLammy nor the PM knew that #Mandelson was a wrongun and failed vetting. @Keir_Starmer is an embarrassment!

If we’re going to talk about wilfully misleading people, a good place might be to start with the mocked up “out of office” emails - which obviously run counter to the fact that SDCC have maintained full opening hours.

Tom, either you don’t understand what your own councils are doing or you’re being wilfully misleading. Conservative-run North Yorkshire policy is the same hours for the same money Liberal Democrat-run South Cambs is 30 hours work for 37 hours pay.

The Complaint That Disappeared Three separate council documents describe the same Code of Conduct complaint. When you read them together, they do not form a consistent picture. Why is that? The first document is an internal email sent on 22 November 2024. In it, the Monitoring Officer explains that he submitted a Code of Conduct complaint in the summer of that year. He says it was referred for investigation. He notes that the councillor concerned had already vacated her seat earlier in the summer. He confirms that the investigation had only been completed a few weeks before the email was sent. He states that the report found a breach of the Code. He attaches that report and asks that it not be distributed further. This establishes that a formal complaint existed, that it was formally investigated, that a written report existed, and that the investigation concluded in the autumn of 2024 after the councillor had resigned. Why was this report restricted from wider circulation? The second document is the council’s FOI response dated 3 September 2025. It confirms that two Code of Conduct investigations took place in 2024/25. One is already known publicly. The other is described as a case where the councillor resigned before the investigation concluded. It was carried out by an independent investigator and cost £8,038 for 58 hours of work. Only one borough councillor resigned in that period, so the second case can only refer to the same investigation described in the November email. The FOI did not release the investigation report or the breach finding, even though the internal email shows the report existed. No exemption was cited and no explanation was given for withholding it. Why was the outcome report not included in the FOI? The third document is the council’s annual Standards Report for 2024/25. It lists every other complaint received that year, including minor parish disputes, informal apologies, withdrawn complaints and cases where no action was required. It does not list the summer 2024 complaint described in the internal email and acknowledged in the FOI. Nothing in the annual report matches the date, the complainant type, the subject, the grounds, the cost or the outcome. The investigation that cost £8,000 and resulted in a breach finding is not recorded anywhere in the report. Why is this complaint missing from the annual Standards Report? A fourth account appears in a Bracknell News article published on 31 March 2026. In that article, the Monitoring Officer states that a standards investigation into the councillor was undertaken in the summer of 2024 and that it concluded with a breach finding. That statement does not match the internal email, which says the investigation concluded in the autumn. It does not match the FOI, which says the investigation did not conclude because the councillor resigned. It does not match the annual report, which contains no record of the complaint at all. Why are there four different timelines for the same investigation? For clarity, the councillor’s arrest in September 2024 was a private matter and unrelated to the Code of Conduct investigation. The standards complaint was submitted before the arrest. The councillor resigned before the investigation concluded. The investigation itself was completed afterwards. The two issues should not be mixed together. Why was this distinction never made publicly? So the situation is this. An internal email confirms a formal complaint, a formal investigation, a written report and a breach finding. The FOI confirms the existence of the same investigation but does not release the report. The annual Standards Report does not record the complaint at all. The public statement given later presents a different timeline again. These four accounts do not align. Why do these contradictions exist? Why does the annual Standards Report contain no record of this complaint? More here ⏬️🔗 facebook.com/share/p/18YXYv…

On 12 January 2024, senior officers were formally told of safeguarding concerns involving the Mayor’s son. On the same day, the Monitoring Officer confirmed he would issue a Code of Conduct complaint. By 15 January, the complaint had been drafted. That same day, the Chief Executive told him to pause. On 1 February, the position was the same. It was still “not an appropriate time” to proceed. The complaint was not issued until July 2024. The Council’s own Constitution is clear: “Upon receipt of a complaint the Monitoring Officer will review the complaint and, after consultation with the Independent Person, decide whether to take no action, seek informal resolution, or refer the matter for investigation.” It applies from the point the Monitoring Officer receives information suggesting a breach, which he confirmed he had on 12 January 2024. These dates come directly from the Council’s own emails. The FOI emails contain no evidence that the Mayor herself was under police investigation. The police investigation was into her son, not her. So why the delay in acting on a complaint about the Mayor? @bracknellnews

People have asked where the information comes from on this post... facebook.com/share/p/1TYuvq… It comes directly from a Freedom of Information request I submitted to Bracknell Forest Council. These documents show this was known on 12th January 2024 by senior Labour figures and Bracknell Forest Council. But did Labour suspend the Mayor from their party, knowing who she had bought to represent them? No!

12 January 2024. The Labour Mayor appointed a consort with the below record.... Allegation of a serious sexual offence Vulnerable adult victim Arrest made Bail conditions imposed (no contact, restrictions) History of 52 offences since 2006 Previous prison time Driving offences Drug-related offences She stepped back... Yet Bracknell Forest council say “No reason at this stage to make proactive public statements.” And Labour stay silent What happened to transparency? Why stay silent?
