@lbbdcouncil @JonCruddas_1 poor customer care by lbbd. Turn up to house of an 86 yr old with dementia to repair blocked sink at 21.45hrs. When refused entry by customer, told job cancelled and you'll have to rebook tomorrow! She's not opening the door to anyone at that time!

35 years ago today, I started my nurse training. It’s been one hell of a journey, with plenty of ups and downs, but still proud to be a Nurse & do what I do… so yeah… go me 😊😊

@Roberts30Sharon @nohandsup I agree with Sharon, I trained 40 years ago and it was the same then. Student nurse one day, qualified the next and "in charge".

@nohandsup It’s not new, probably not the answer you were looking for! I trained 30yrs ago! We were left in charge of 28 bed ward as a 2nd yr student nurse for breaks, with a trained nurse on the ward opposite to call. As a newly qualified D grade could be in charge nights/ weekends.

I'm relatively new to nursing. Genuine question... at what point in RN history did RN's adopt the position that they have to accept Nurse In Charge leadership duties at Band 5 for no extra pay? How has a situation evolved where this responsibility is not monetarily rewarded?
