@kieransopinion @thelifeofjadey @Ryanair I've used them once or twice and it's been fine (although I try not to fly at all if I can avoid it). But their social media presence and the way they mock their own customers who may have a made a simple mistake leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

So, my mistake admittedly, but I've put the wrong surname for one of my friends on my booking. To change the surname? £115!! To rebook TWO flights in the correct name? £44.98!! How the hell can @Ryanair justify this? I'd love an explanation.

@SarahPedersen2 It's formal wear for a formal event, so I imagine some of our female athletes would like to wear heels and a skirt. I'd object if there wasn't an alternative length and footwear option for those who don't. I'm sure they'd be allowed a longer tartan skirt & flats if they want?

Your worst nightmare is the sudden and traumatic death of your child. When that is caused by a driver, what happens next feels leisurely and opaque. For these families, this “misconduct inquiry” must be unbeatable. We can do so much better for road victims bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Another tragic fatal car crash close to home. ⁦@Kate_Dearden⁩ MP said: “my thoughts are with the families & friends of those [3 under 22] who have so tragically lost their lives & with the young man who is currently in hospital.” ⁦@alison_4life itv.com/news/calendar/…

@TheBossnME We had neighbours cut down a beautiful, two-storey high copper birch recently. Perfectly healthy. It blocked the light to their house apparently, although it was there before they bought the house. Heck, it was there before they were born.

Anyone else feel immense anger when someone decimates an established tree, hedge, shrub, or similar? 🤔 My neighbour did this yesterday to a Cotoneaster. Established way over 20 years. The pigeons and other birds sat on it and ate the berries. We live among absolute nutters.

Oh boy! What a headline... Ask yourself: "What am I being asked to believe?" "Who am I being told to blame?" Take a few seconds to imagine what the Daily Mail (And Telegraph, GB News and Express) WANT you to think is going on. Let's see what's ACTUALLY happening...🧵 1/21

#TalkAboutRoadDeath - children This chart shows how many children were killed on our roads from 2008 (cumulative) - the year my own 12 year old daughter was killed by an oncoming young drivers car. 1,256 children. @transportgovuk are right to set an ambitious target

@Colin_d_m The trouble is that too many older people continue to drive long after they should have stopped, and they and their families need some kind of consequence to be worried about. If they get off scot-free because they didn't intend to hurt anyone, then people will just keep doing it

This woman will never drive again and had no intention to kill. If you believe in 100% rehabilitative justice you should support letting her go. But you probably don’t think that and neither do I. We should stop bullshitting and be honest. Sometimes prison exists only to punish.
San Francisco Chronicle@sfchronicle

The woman prosecutors said killed a family of four after ramming into a bus stop with her car in San Francisco’s West Portal neighborhood will avoid jail time after changing her plea in court. sfchronicle.com/crime/article/…

@BigIssue The Big Issue model is outdated. People don't want the magazine, and only buy it because it's helping the person. It's still begging if you're offering service/product that people don't want, and only "buy" as an act of charity. There needs to be a complete overhaul of the model.

Working, not begging. Vendors buy the Big Issue for £2.50 and sell it for £5. If you pay for the magazine, please take it. It's dignity for the vendor, and it keeps Big Issue alive.

@gotrice2024 I wouldn’t leave until they had their belts on. If there was a high speed crash, they would fly through the screen, or hit the back of the drivers seat so hard that they could potentially be the cause of any injury to the driver.

This very nice man drives for Uber to make ends meet, he has picked up these two young women for a ride. During the ride someone pulls out in front of them and he has to slam on his brakes. Since they aren’t wearing their seatbelts, they fly forward into the piece of plexiglass he has installed. Is he liable for injuries if his passengers refuse to wear their safety belt or should he not have even started driving unless they agreed to put their dealt belt on?

@thecavemommy Agreed. Our first payment to our builder flagged an issue, and they called and asked a few questions to make sure we weren’t being scammed. Subsequent payments went through with no issues.

Am I the only person who doesn’t see a problem with this? Someone who has never withdrawn such an amount of money before SHOULD be asked by tellers to make sure they’re safe, not being held hostage, avoiding a scam. Bank tellers being skeptical of things like this is some of the only ways old people avoid being scammed out of their money. I probably should see more of a problem with this but I really don’t, it’s supposed to help keep people safe. I dunno 🤷🏼‍♀️

I bet they will stop doing this soon. They’ve literally just given you a precise recipe. Any sensible person will look at this and decide to just make it themselves whenever they need it

I haven’t noticed the sudden population explosion here in Stirling. Is this a mistake and they’re actually giving the population of Edinburgh during the Fringe?
