A lot of people think some folks just “get” JavaScript or programming the first time they touch it. It’s funny because that’s not how it works at all. Nobody truly understands programming when they’re just starting out. You’ll be confused for weeks, even months and that’s completely normal. Feeling stuck doesn’t mean you’re dumb. It just means you’re learning. Keep showing up, keep practicing, and one day things will start to click. I’m rooting for all of us 💜

Hesitation slowed me down. Instead of sharpening my focus, I let the noise creep in, and doing things the right way started to feel exhausting. This month, I’m choosing differently. I’m showing up, putting myself out there, and documenting the journey as it unfolds. GM CT HNM

New month, new mindset. Exams are coming up in a week or two, so I might not be as active for a while. But once I'm done, it’s full focus. I’ll have months ahead to really lock in, build consistently, and push myself harder than ever. This journey is only getting started.

Day 27 learning React.js. Today i W worked on state, props, filtering, sorting, and progress UI logic. Seeing goals update dynamically and progress bars react to data made everything start to feel like a real dashboard. Still building, still learning.

UI is ready now. Next step is the logic, and that’s where the real challenge begins. I always like to structure out my ui b4 adding any interactivity.

Day 26 of learning React.js. Spent most of today building the UI for my Savings Tracker. I structured the app into 5 components and just finished the styling. What I’m realizing lately is that building projects teaches differently from just watching tutorials or reading docs.

Just discovered react.dev and I’m using it to refresh my React knowledge while I keep building. Tomorrow I start a savings tracker and I’ll keep learning as I build, step by step.

Day 52 learning React Today was a bit slow since it’s Sunday, so I took some time to rest. Still, I made a little progress. I installed React Router and set up separate pages for my interior design project. Now the navbar (Home, About, etc.) actually navigates to different pages properly. Honestly, I keep falling in love with React more every day 😹 We go again tomorrow.

Truths you need to know about life after learning a tech skill👨🏽‍💻👩🏽‍💻✨ 1) Nobody is coming to give you a job. No recruiter is secretly watching you. If you don’t apply, build, and put yourself out there, nothing will happen. 2) You will finish learning and still feel lost. Courses don’t prepare you for real-world problems. You only start understanding when you actually build things. 3) Some people will get opportunities before you. They’ll land jobs, gigs, or internships while you’re still trying. If you focus on them, you’ll slow yourself down. 4) Your certificates don’t matter as much as you think. Most people care about what you can build. If you can’t show proof, it’s hard to stand out. 5) You will get rejected. Sometimes without feedback. You just have to keep going anyway. 6) Motivation will not last. There will be days you don’t feel like coding at all. Discipline is what keeps you moving. 7) You don’t need to know everything to start. Waiting to “feel ready” will waste your time. You learn faster by doing. 8) Your first projects will be bad. That’s normal. Everyone improves by building more. 9) Free resources are enough. You don’t need to buy every course. What matters is consistency. 10) It might take longer than you expect. There’s no fixed timeline. You just have to stay consistent and keep improving.
