The cost of Cuban chains must be low value these days. Just about everybody in the industry has a Cuban on these days, even the people behind the scenes.
Real hoopers know this but there's a big difference between pure scorers and dominant scorers 👇🏽 All these guys scored at the highest level but it's two different styles.
Dominant scorers: Physically imposing and their arsenal is built around their athletic prowess. Speed, power, strength and explosiveness allowed them to feast on defenses. They were consistent with only a few moves that nobody could stop. They did most their damage in the paint. The stat lines they put up were incredible.
Pure scorers: Natural skill and feel for the game. You could wake them up out the bed, take them to a court and they'll give you 50. Their game was built primarily around their shot making from the perimeter, foot work, their ball handling ability and creativity. These guys are so skilled the can torch an entire defense without even having to step foot in the paint. The variety is beautiful to watch.
@rsandns@balldontstop Style of play always matters when you are building a team, coaching or as a consumer identifying what you like. It matters to advertisers and for ratings. You may not care but consumers do - thus the conversations continue on...
@AskTheManager@balldontstop I think you are missing my point
IT DOES NOT MATTER
They score and can’t be stopped even with a supposed “limited” bag of creativity
Vlade had a bigger “bag” than Shaq. Who cares
This is trying to group players on the eye test. Production doesn’t care about esthetics
@NBAStatGuy_ Simple question if he’s better how come he never had a dynasty, especially when the East was at its weakest? Kobe, Steph, Duncan and MJ all had a dynasty. He only validated himself by running to a champion in Wade to get a ring. Facts.
The weird part about the GOAT debate is that we all have to ignore the fact that LeBron is clearly the better, more versatile, more athletic, stronger, more dedicated, more durable player who faced better competition, won as an underdog, and is a better human being.
Just to talk about how MJ dominated for 6 years over an 8 year period, against inferior competition, as a less skilled player, on the best team in the league, with the best coach in the league.
The story is played out, it's time to let go of the mental gymnastics it takes to keep old yellow eyes at the top.
@rsandns@balldontstop I think you missing the point. The dominant scorers listing do have the stats and capacity to get points. However, they have a limited plethora of moves. IQ is there but fluidity and creativity not so much.
@balldontstop It’s making an irrelevant distinction in order to create value where there is none or where actual value is lacking
There is production = what actually happened
There is bag = hypothetically what should happen
