Iranians stay because Iran is home. Expats in Dubai and Doha pack a bag and fly out the moment things get serious. The Gulf doesn't just lose people. It loses the entire workforce that runs the country. That's why a war with Iran is existential for the Gulf states in a way it never could be for Iran. The Gulf can lose the war by simply losing its population. Iran can't. Now you understand at least part of why Saudi Arabia refused to lend its airbase to Project Freedom...

Pakistan should permanently annex small but strategically significant parts of Afghanistan. Enough so Pakistan can push civilization from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad to the tribal areas and Baluchistan. Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad should now become the places where a new original Pakistani form of modernity forms. The tribal areas and Baluchistan should feel like Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, and the brutal barbarism of the tribal areas should be pushed into Afghanistan only.

Armenia became 99% Armenian through mass migration of diaspora Armenians and displacement of Azeris. Greece became almost purely ethnicly Greek through mass migration of diaspora Greek people and displacement of Turks. Israel became majority Jewish through mass migration of diaspora Jews and displacement of Arabs. Each had a different complex history of the context of how and why it happened, But overall, those countries exist and have the right to exist as a nation state for their people.
