I have amended AB1577 - allowing Legislative employees to collectively bargain. The bill will give our employees the right to unionize, a right that has been granted to employees in every other branch of govt. Listening to our workers’ voices will make the institution stronger 🧵

#AB1766 has passed Assembly Transportation and is now headed to the Judiciary committee. This is one step closer to every Californian obtaining an ID card

I introduced AB 1766 to expand CA ID eligibility to all Californians, regardless of immigration status. IDs are essential to employment, housing and social services. This bill removes one of the largest barriers to societal participation for undocumented people.

Great article on the Student Borrowers Bill of Rights that established standards for the student loan industry so that borrowers have the best chance to pay off their debts. I authored AB 424 this year to build on those protections and bring further accountability to the industry

#AB503 has passed the Assembly Floor and now heads to the Senate
