A decade ago, The Aspen Skiing Company invested almost $6M in a machine to capture methane leaking from a Colorado coal mine. They say it now generates 3MW baseload, enough to power lifts, hotels and restaurants on 4 mountains and generate enough $$$ that's it's nearly paid off.
