@john_ford77 @theLagosguyy @i30sch1 No one said house, they should at least be able to buy a 1 bed flat.
English

@theLagosguyy @i30sch1 I don’t. Why do you think this generation should be the first to be able to buy a nice house while in an unskilled job as a single person?
English

@confidencenac Because all the greedy 20 something are vaping , buying Starbucks, riding around in Ubers and eating fast food and wonder why they can’t save anything
English

@MegaBasedChad @MythoYookay My family were in London for over 200 years until I got priced out and I’m also annoyed about gentrification.
Also “account based in USA” and talking about the gentrification of London and being in a country for 1,000 years. Lmaoooo.
English

@MythoYookay I will never not find it funny that people whose parents moved to a country 25 years ago have the gall to call people who've been in the town over for 1000 years "gentrifiers"
English

@simonwatt85 Pensioners can also claim Housing Benefit if they need to pay rent so it’s not a fair comparison
Min wage has to pay for all costs including housing
State Pension is for costs excluding housing
Big difference

Don’t work: You can only afford 1 room & no car
Work: You can only afford 1 room & no car

@DrChrisParry @GIRUxGIRU It’s not men’s choice. For the most part anyway.
English

@GIRUxGIRU Do you have kids? If not you are part of the problem.

55 years of hard work and paying taxes.
And not whining.
Benedict Spence@BenedictSpence
What makes a pensioner more deserving of protection from market forces than, say, a young family?
English

Getting called racist because people don't know fhe Monkees are a band apparently
Peter Bogdanovich Facts@natminuszero
@decoyrobot Girl into the 60s into Herman's Hermits and the Monkees calling herself a multistan

genuinelt what possible foods could H even have
Amy Eileen Hamm@preta_6
This is an impossible choice 😭
English

@DAKKADAKKA1 You mean examiner not instructor. Also your account is based in the USA so you don’t have a clue.
English

@GlasnostHeart @CaravanWD @bellbeak @DAKKADAKKA1 If it was the summer then they probably had a lot of day-trippers from Bradford.
English

@CaravanWD @bellbeak @DAKKADAKKA1 Literally lmao. I went to Scarborough over the summer and it was maybe 70% white. 97% is ridiculous.
English

@Tinebobagain UC & JSA are 2 different benefits. Unlike UC, JSA requires you to have paid in. So I’ll ask again: do you consider JSA a benefit?

English

@Asquith_is_back It’s called universal credit now and no you don’t. Anyone can get it. An invader who rocked up last year & got asylum can get it. Doesn’t have to pay a penny into the system.
English

If people didn’t ’pay in’ why do they need 35 years of statutory contributions to get a state pension?
Stephen Pollard@stephenpollard
No one has 'paid in'. That's a long-standing fiction as you well know. All you're doing is shattering any credibility when you say Reform is committed to restoring the nation's finances.
English

@redrumlisa Are you joking? Working class boomers were able to buy houses in Inner London!
English

This divisive & very nasty 'boomer' narrative by younger people is definitely being pushed by the younger middle class generation who feel entitled by their class but realise the disadvantage of their generation. Its not working class young people pushing this because they dont have parents & grandparents with the wealth the middle class see in their families
English

@KatelynTweeter We would love to adopt, we can’t afford the adoption process. 😭
English

@SearlJk47427 @JoshuaDone @KatelynTweeter No, they won’t recognise you as their parents and will just return to their old name the second they turn 16.
Nice attempt to move the goalpost though.
English

@molmutius @LemanWalters Same. MLE is our nation’s worst accent but I didn’t mind the MLE on Top Boy or Kidulthood cos it was their natural accent, but on Phone Shop it’s like they’ve thought “how can we make an absurdly thick MLE accent that is truly like nails on a chalkboard?”
English

@LemanWalters You’re too young. I couldn’t watch it *at the time* because of the MLE.
English

Sometimes I watch clips of Phone Shop to reminisce on what Sutton High Street looked like back in my youth, like Pink in The Wall comatose in his hotel re-watching old WWII films
