LOTS of questions about traveling back from the Gulf Coast tomorrow. One of us is there, and he's cutting out of there today and getting home tonight. If you travel tomorrow, you'll be traveling through a rare High Risk severe setup with the possibility of violent long-track tornadoes there...along with Spring Break traffic and the potential to be stuck on the interstate with nowhere to go. If you can make alternative plans, make them...is our advice. If I sound concerned about travel through Alabama, I am.

@letendre_sophie @NashSevereWx Lots of radar indicated rotation, but none of them have been observed or confirmed yet. Doesn't mean they haven't or won't happen, just how it's been up to this point.

@NashSevereWx Has there been any active Tornados west of us in Memphis area?

Yes, we have a tornado, damaging wind and hail threat with these incoming storms. But, DONT underestimate the flash flood potential. Our ground can't handle more water, but we're going to get more water. We'll likely see an uptick once again in creek/small river problems. Prepare now if you live in a flood prone area.

Today, our team members received a Cease & Desist order on behalf of Activision Publishing in relation to the H2M-Mod project. We are complying with this order and shutting down all operations immediately and permanently.

@NashSevereWx Hopefully we won't be C-IN any storms develop before the main line.

Weather balloon data is in for the evening. Looks like there's some convective inhibition (CIN) that will have to be overcome before storms can get going. CIN levels like this will typically require a front or some other forcing mechanism to get the air to rise. Lucky for us, that's what we have coming tonight. That to say, we may be spared from storms ahead of the main line. We'll see. Otherwise, plenty of energy out there.

Like we said, this event is far from over. We are watching the main line develop to our west. These storms will move our direction and reach our area around to after midnight. The severe weather threat will not be over until this line moves through.

Asking when storms are going to form is like asking when the turkey's gonna get done. We know what the directions say, but the atmosphere is like an oven, temperatures and times may vary.

Discrete supercells are bad and they're approaching us from the SW. Our atmosphere will be increasingly capable of rotating storms threatening Will Co and Nashville with tornadoes, large hail, damaging winds through the PM rush hour / 322 PM

Attention turns to this maturing supercell with ETAs to western Will Co and Davidson Co between 445 and 515 PM assuming current speed remains constant. Avoid being on the road or traveling during this time. / 312 PM

Our local National Weather Service office in Old Hickory has just launched a mid-day weather balloon to gather data on our current atmosphere. This will be useful when the data comes back here in a bit.

A thought to ponder: Through the day, perhaps you'll see different takes on the forecast, perhaps some scary graphics. Some AI generated, some from forecasters. Regardless, your plan shouldn't change. Stay connected. Have a way to get warnings. Have a plan to get to a safe area quickly wherever you are. And, perhaps most of all, don't panic. It's not good for you or those you're around. We've been through these before, and we'll get through it together like we did last time.
