You are the lawyer. So my question is do insults give legal justification to initiate a physical attack? I know there is some precedent with "fighting words", but doesn't that also need to include threats of violence to justify reacting with violence? It was my understanding that "fighting words" were very narrow. Do racial slurs automatically count as "fighting words" that people can legally assault others for using in public? If yes, what words are on this list, specifically? If there are words that are so taboo no one can utter them I would like to see them listed in law.




The Chud the Builder case is going to be interesting Both parties who think it’s a slam dunk on either side of the spectrum are wrong On the one hand he does have freedom of speech & a word isn’t legal basis for an assault On the other there’s a massive case for him instigating conflict with the intent to cause physical harm This is going to come down to who he gets as a judge
