The issue is not about religion and beliefs, but about doing so with spectacular publicity. Religion has been an intrinsic part of soldiering but it is practised in house (within units) for cohesion and for personal spiritual needs strictly in private. Even visits to famous religious places can organised privately. The military is and should remain secular and apolitical and its public image and actions must reflect the same.

Trans amendment bill is the proof that if the govt wanted to make reforms it would have made them despite strong opposition. They just dont care about the welfare of people as much
