Pope Leo tells African students they should work to improve their own countries instead of seeking better opportunities elsewhere. I hope they listen 🙏🏾

With regards to South Africans Xenophobia and Wode Maya and NDC’s visa free open border policy this is what @grok had to say .. Bad idea in Africa's current state. Most countries have massive gaps in stability, governance, rule of law, and GDP per capita. South Africa, Botswana, and a few others already face heavy migration pressure, xenophobia incidents, unemployment spikes, and crime from uncontrolled inflows. Full borderless movement would accelerate brain drain from poorer nations and overload the better-run ones without fixing root problems like corruption or weak institutions first. Start with AfCFTA-style trade and regional pacts (ECOWAS/EAC free movement) that have shown mixed but real gains. Unity via economics beats erasing borders on paper.

South Africa remains stagnant and failing because it traded the engineer for the lawyer Substituted the factory manager for the chartered accountant Swapped the materials scientist for the banker Glorified the finance manager over the artisan Prematurely gave up the bullet for the ballot Rewarded the office park over the industrial park Magnified the tender consultant over the town planner Elevated the compliance officer over the soil scientist Worshipped glorified credentials over capability Idolised the procurement officer over the inventor Traded the civil engineer for the civil servant Traded the mine surveyor for the mining indaba Chose the consultant over the craftsman The common thread in South Africa is the rise of the intermediary. In a healthy industrial economy, value is created at the source, which is the factory, the farm and the mine. In an economy like SA’s that has swapped the artisan for the accountant, the primary mechanism of wealth generation becomes the cut taken by the middle man who does not necessarily add value to the physical product, only extracting value from the transaction. You cannot and will not develop a nation by attempting to skip the industrialisation phase and jumping head-first into a service-based global economy. When the primary route to wealth runs through state tenders, compliance, licensing and procurement, you get rent-seeking rather than value creation where incentives point away from building things and toward positioning yourself between the builder and the buyer. This is not about Fana Hlongwane or Ze Nxumalo, but yes, just like that.

🎯😎 South Africans do not hate Black people. If they did, they would also hate Black people from Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, and Eswatini. But they don’t. The difference is those Black people from neighboring countries are not entering South Africa carrying the same heavy social baggage, the crime, the entitlement, the destruction of infrastructure, and the demands on already strained resources. People are fed up. Every country has its own problems. We’re all struggling with unemployment, poverty, failing services, and corruption in our own nations. So why should South Africans be expected to smile and welcome more problems?

Infrastructure in South Africa was designed for extraction and white people's convenience. and you know it, it still remains like that. There's no road to your village, ambulances can't reach people, there's one entry/exit to your township.

That’s a very lazy and dangerous take from you. I don’t have crayons to explain this to your childish brain and reasoning but I’ll try below. You don’t fix economic problems by blaming poor people who crossed a border. Plenty of immigrants have built businesses, create d jobs and filled gaps your own system isn’t solving. Acting like poverty is a crime or that every immigrant is a criminal just exposes prejudice and uncultured behaviour. South Africans live and work all over Africa and the world. Imagine every country took this same attitude. You can push for better immigration control without dehumanising people or rewriting reality. During that painful apartheid, Nigeria, Ghana etc stood behind you to fight the ills against you. If your economy is struggling, look at leadership, corruption, policies, lack of opportunities etc. Don’t make immigrants scapegoats.
YtzT@EFFTips

@thenanaaba Yes, we dont want to live with immigrants because immigrants come to South Africa with zero plans of survival that don't involve criminality... how can you move to another country to be poor? You're literally not helping us economically. you're literally a curse to our economy

@CyrilRamaphosa you should have opted to drive, and see for yourself the state of the roads in the Free State. There's a road there by Marquard I would have loved you to experience. It's called R708. That road has humbled me.
