Why aren’t campaigns against shisha and vaping as visible and consistent as anti-cigarette campaigns in Uganda? Many young people perceive shisha and vapes as “safer” alternatives, yet they can also expose users to harmful substances and nicotine. We need stronger, sustained public awareness in schools, universities, entertainment venues, and across social media. Can @MinofHealthUG @UgandaCancerIns and @WHO work together to make this a national conversation? Are we doing enough to educate Ugandans about the risks of shisha and vaping?

@BalaamBarugahar Thank you for bringing this to light. Public accountability begins with leaders who verify facts on the ground because pupils should not only exist in EMIS but also in class. A wider audit of enrolment and attendance records across the district is necessary.

During my inspection , I visited Naiku Primary School in Mbale District, where I uncovered serious irregularities. Government is releasing funds based on an enrollment of 1,352 pupils, yet during my visit, I personally conducted a physical headcount and found only 705 pupils present. This discrepancy suggests that Government could be losing approximately UGX 14,098,648 through fraudulent enrollment figures in just one primary school per term . If this is happening at Naiku Primary School, how much more public money could be lost across government schools in Mbale District? Where is the District Education Officer (DEO), the School Inspectors, the District Human Resource Office, and the local leadership? Every responsible office must carry out its mandate to protect public resources and ensure accountability. The fight against corruption is a collective responsibility. Every shilling lost to corruption is a shilling taken away from our children’s education and our communities’ development. We must expose the corrupt, recover public funds, and restore integrity in local government. #KisanjaEndCorruption #ExposeTheCorrupt

Supporting the government should never mean ignoring due process. Ministers can be censured because they exercise Executive power. The Leader of the Opposition exists to scrutinise government and provide a check on Executive power in Parliament. Any alleged misconduct should be handled through the proper parliamentary channels, party processes or the courts not through a procedure intended for ministers.

Uganda doesn’t lack policies, systems, or committees. Sometimes what we lack is the courage to act on the information already sitting in our offices. Accountability should not start after a scandal. It should start the moment a red flag appears.

Many government vehicles are parked and wasting away, yet some may still be repairable. @DaudiKabanda AAA isn’t an isolated case. Institutional design matters. Self-accounting systems can create accountability blind spots that deserve serious review, especially where public trust is at stake.

In the last Financial Year both the budget Committee and Parliament rejected the proposal to give PACEID 37bn UgX, however, the Speaker of Parliament smuggled the figure back in the National Budget. That was the beginning of looting of taxpayers money.

As for our beautiful and gracious female MPs, supporters of PLU and NRM. The President assured me he has catered adequately for his female supporters.

I shall say one more thing today. The entire budget for roads in Kampala will be under my control (CDF). I will determine who builds and repairs roads.

Kampala's slums need an urban renewal plan. We can build decent housing and infrastructure for bonafide inhabitants of the capital city. We would use the money we save from thieves.

PLU is more united now than ever before. If they are any spoilers amongst us we shall not hesitate to discipline them. We are an extremely disciplined movement.

🚨UPDATE: Uganda National Water and Sewerage Corporation i have been receiving DMs from various people complaining about the amount of money appearing on their water bills and I couldn't believe it. Today morning my neighbor received a water bill mounting to UGX 275K, the man is single without a family, he doesn't cook nor wash his clothes at home Last month he spent 2 weeks in Nairobi,He only showers and flushing toilets but the bill for the month of February is UGX 275k. @nwscug is this another way of scamming Ugandans?
