Exaggeration. Things have gotten quite expensive in UK since last 3 years but not as much as you are insinuating. Bag of crisps - £1-2 , sandwich (large premium) - max £4-5 , coffee from starbucks probably £3-4 ( I am not a coffee persion) . A premium meal deal from any supermarket will at the most cost you £7 and a normal one around £4.5

I just arrived in the UK: £6 for a coffee £3 for a bag of crisps £7.50 for a ham sandwich How the hell is it £16.50 for lunch? I used to be able to go out to dinner for that.
