#ProjectHailMary is all I can think about. Since I started this account, there have only been a handful of new releases that have really ignited something in me like this film did yesterday. Cinema needed this. Hell, I needed this. This was a spiritual experience in theaters.

The “fishing” sequence in PROJECT HAIL MARY is as good as the “docking” sequence in INTERSTELLAR. There. I said it.

Each year, B.A.T. (Baseball Assistance Team) presents The Bobby Murcer Award to the teams in each league whose players raise the most money to assist those in the baseball family who are in need. The 2026 winners are the Los Angeles Angels (AL) and the New York Mets (NL).

@MaxTGoodman A 6 man rotation makes no sense. They do not have enough quality starters to justify this

Mets pitching plans from Carlos Mendoza: Minor-league arms will pitch Saturday and Sunday to round out Grapefruit League play. Nolan McLean and Sean Manaea will then start in a scrimmage here on Monday. That lines McLean up to likely start in Game 3 of the regular season with Manaea potentially going Game 2. Freddy Peralta isn’t starting today because he’d be in line to pitch in the second series of the season against the Cardinals (who are in town this afternoon) … another sign that even as the Mets go with this six-man rotation, they’ll have Peralta pitch on regular rest.

Mark DeRosa says he didn't expect Nolan McLean to pitch into the 5th inning tonight "We were thinking he'd give us 3, he'd give us 4, and we were going to go right to the bullpen and see where the game was at. That's a testament to him, he had unbelievable stuff tonight"

They're gonna slander McLean cause a bunch of "all-stars" are swinging pool noodles against a guy with a 92 MPH fastball and 5 ERA 🕊️

I’d like to know how Baseball America justifies #Dodgers Shohei Ohtani as an 80 Scouting Grade -> for his HIT TOOL. 80 Scouting Grade -> for POWER makes sense. Makes ZERO sense to have Ohtani as an 80 Grade Hit Tool & #Mets Juan Soto as a -> 70 Scouting Grade HIT TOOL. Career Batting Average <-> 0.282 for J. Soto & S. Ohtani Career K-Rate <-> J. Soto -> 17% | S. Ohtani -> 26% Career BB-Rate <-> J. Soto -> 19% | S. Ohtani -> 12% Career OBP <-> J. Soto -> 0.417 | S. Ohtani -> 0.374 Both players entered the MLB in 2018 <-> 2025 J. Soto <-> Age 19 -> Age 26 S. Ohtani <-> Age 23 -> Age 30 Think about that -> Soto began his career as a 19 yr old, after 122 Career games played in Minors | ONLY 453 Career AB. J. Soto : MiLB Career Games Played: Age 16 - 77 GP | Age 19 - 87 GP | Age 21 - 104 GP 0.362 BA | 1.043 OPS | 0.434 OBP | 13% K-Rate | 11% BB-Rate You’re talking about a teenager who should be in High School, dominating against players 5-7 years older, despite not even having 100+ games per season to gain experience. He practically walked off the street -> established himself as a GENERATIONAL TALENT. S. Ohtani : N.P.B. Career Games Played: Age 18 - 51 GP | Age 17 - 32 GP | Age 18 - 39 GP 0.286 BA | 0.859 OPS | 0.353 OBP | 13% K-Rate | 11% BB-Rate It took Ohtani until 2016, Age-21 Season -> for him to really establish himself as a prodigious offensive talent in the N.P.B. Soto’s Age-21 Season -> .282 BA | 34 HR |.401 OBP |.949 OPS This was also his second year in the league -> proving he is immune to the “Sophomore Slump”that’s victimized so many. Soto posted an ABSURD -> 16% BB-Rate | 20% K-Rate Soto was 20 years old for entire 2019 season -> last time a player posted a similar K-Rate at that age, you have to go back to 1950s -> Mel OTT & Al Kaline -> BOTH HOF’ers… J. Soto 2018 -> Rookie Stats: Age 19 | 116 GP | 0.292 BA | 0.923 OPS | 0.406 OBP | 20% K-Rate |16% BB-Rate | 22 Homers | 25 Doubles | 70 RBI | 77 Runs | S. Ohtani 2018 -> Rookie Stats: Age 23 | 104 GP | 0.285 BA | 0.925 OPS | 0.361 OBP | 28% K-Rate |10% BB-Rate | 34 Homers | 32 Doubles | 61 RBI | 59 Runs | J. Soto 2019 -> Sophomore Stats: Age 20 | 116 GP | 0.282 BA | 0.923 OPS | 0.406 OBP | 20% K-Rate |16% BB-Rate | 22 Homers | 25 Doubles | 70 RBI | 77 Runs | S. Ohtani 2018 -> Sophomore Stats: Age 24 | 106 GP | 0.286 BA | 0.848 OPS | 0.343 OBP | 26% K-Rate | 8% BB-Rate | 18 Homers | 21 Doubles | 62 RBI | 51 Runs | Despite being only 20 years old during -> Soto quickly established himself as the #Nationals most feared hitter. Look at the #Nationals 2019 Lineup -> compare it to the #Dodgers World Series teams & you tell me who is the bigger difference-maker on offense. Despite losing Bryce Harper via Free Agency -> Soto led the #Nationals to a World Series win, with only Anthony Rendon and Trea Turner as the only other above average hitters. Meanwhile #Angels couldn’t even make the playoffs despite Mike Trout posting back-back-back MVP seasons & the #Angels spending huge dollars every off-season, hoping to create a Championship caliber team. If anyone has an 80-Scouting Grade HIT TOOL… It’s Juan Soto… #LGM #Mets
