Tomorrow marks two years since the Dali struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge and I am proud to report on the progress that we are seeing. Not only did we reopen the channel in 11 weeks, when people said it would take 11 months – last year, the Port saw record-breaking container numbers, and that’s only going to grow once the CSX Howard Street Tunnel Project is completed, increasing the Port’s business by around 160,000 containers annually, and generating 14,000 jobs.

@ChrisDavisMMJ It’s an important emergency management distinction. A shelter-in-place order instructs people to remain indoors while responders address a situation; an evacuation directs people to leave. In this case, no evacuation order was given.

@austinstaton Gotcha. We were told people were told either to shelter in place with their heaters off or leave the area. Ran out of characters to say all of that.

Wow! This is the view from Sky 5 of the train derailment in Trenton, KY. 31 CSX train cars derailed around 7 am Tuesday. Thankfully no one was hurt. An evacuation notice in the half mile radius was issued this morning but has now been rescinded.
