@FreeBandito Social security has very big problems that need fixing. It also meaningfully provides for seniors. Very much support reforms. Defense we’re far apart on. I think we should be spending more.

verifiably insane social security is a ponzi. its funded by new entrants. the amt of money i put in will never compare to what i will get out. its literally bankrupting the country when everyone would be way better off saving on their own. rather than helping save for retirement, it hurts my ability to save. if i put my SS taxes into VOO id be way way way better off than letting the incredibly irresponsible and unaccountable federal government manage it our “defense” spending is 99% offense spending. we have bases in dozens of countries for no valid defensive reason. we bombed a random nigerian village on christmas and killed a grandma. There are hundreds of NJ nat guard in syria. its complege nonsense. every offensive mission puts us in more danger of blowback. the reason we are in danger is because of our “defense” spending neither social security nor defense are achieving their goal, they just take our money and waste it on shit that we dont want, that is the complete opposite of the goal

I think people don’t realize just how much better life could be with ubiquitous government embraced AI. 1) this truck would have been flagged and ticketed at the moment it left the appropriate route and police would’ve been able to intercept. 2) the manhole cover lid popping off would’ve been captured by the camera systems, alerting DOT to the safety hazard We have the technology we even have most of the cameras already installed.
