Jomon are not reminiscent of Europeans or West Eurasians though, apart from lacking EDARV370A downstream craniometric shift of neo-Monğoloids. East Asian groups also have many features that are not associated with gracilization (Qijia culture skulls, for reference)

Here’s a Jomon male. The orbits, cranial vault, robustness, and brain-case are very reminiscent of Europeans. I’ve always wondered why East Asian cranial morphology is so different from Europeans when they technically have more Neanderthal admixture, Neanderthals had the same sloping in the corner of their orbits and so do Australasians. It would seem that East Asians went through a significant gracilisation process living an agricultural lifestyle making their orbits round and neotenous among other things.

Total speculation on my end, but I think Chemurchek were likely speaking pre-proto-Tocharian, and inherited it from Afanasievo ancestors, so no direct ancestry from southwest Europe

@nrken19 The data files for them will not be posted on the new dataset being dropped the data of the Kamenice samples that it listed on the Exploreyourdna.com domain is from the photo of the Kamenice paper presented at a academic conference
