@jakeformayor Why should there be an entry reduction based on how many times you've entered?

My fixes for the ALC/Q: No seeing who's in your pod. Draft 1 prizes start at 3 wins. Reduce price to 3K after 5 runs. No playing against draft 1 decks when you're in draft 2. 7-2 gets a draft 2 token. Draft 2 is BO3. Divide the Championship into four events, 30 invites each.

Seemed very off brand for him in my limited experience (I follow him for his statistical insights into sealed deck card analysis which I use when grinding Arena Directs).

It looks like this happened for this year and I assume it will for life. Honestly they really weren't left with much of a choice. Shoutout to the incredible job by @JackEffel and the tournament staff who have been, and will continue to be, painted in a bad light by people who don't get it. This was a constant breaking of rules. This was a drain on all of the players and all of the staff. Forcing the floor to come to a table over and over while being yelled at nonstop after every decision was made is disrespectful, wrong, and unfair. These people have a job to do and one person stopping one or more of them from being able to do it in the biggest tournament of the year at the biggest series of the year is beyond not ok. The fact that this was a terrible viewing experience for a large number of people isn't relevant, and I know a ton of people loved it. But the fact that so many viewers hated it WITHOUT being at the table and WITHOUT being in the biggest event of their life should at least show a little bit of how miserable it would be to sit at the table all day dealing with this for a large number of competitors.

@efropoker @BudManStream @JackEffel Doesn’t PokerGo have a contract with WSOP to stream the tournament? Implicitly, this would be an indirect promotion of Kassouf by the WSOP as certainly WSOP would have discretion over what could or could not be streamed.

First off, this is wildly untrue. WSOP did nothing to promote Kassouf, and if you're referring to the streams which are PokerGO and not WSOP, that's totally different. Second, who cares? I understand people like to view train wrecks. I couldn't look away once they started penalizing either to see what the next penalty would be as someone became more and more unhinged. That doesn't make it good for the game. In fact, it doesn't even suggest that it promotes the game as this is rarely the type of thing to bring in *new* viewers

@TheBradOwen not trying to insinuate you are cheating, but this is a screenshot from your latest YT vide (Ep 339) of the dealer placing the burn card. Impossible for rest of table to see but very easy based on your camera angle. Do you find this problematic?

@mtghofbot The whole game is a refshow. If they audited the entire game like they do with that last 2 minutesl report that they so after each game, the sport would be laughed out of the competitive integrity room. Main reason I don't watch NBA.

@FarazJaka @WPT People keep mentioning "and you have to fade 4 overs" but actually not true because SBs overs are only worth 4.6bb so his cards are somewhat irrelevant. And I actually think it's beneficial to have the SB for the dynamic it creates in that it induces UTG1 to shove lighter

@SaffronOlive @holopollock Yes, it is exactly this. It has nothing to do with the price of MTG or whatever she is claiming in the original tweet. Card games are inherently extremely poor games to watch. There are absolutely no card games out there that have a large viewership.

@holopollock Yeah, I think that's a big challenge. I don't know anything about League of Legends or Marvel Rivals, but I can turn them on and enjoy watching them because people shooting at each other is fairly intuitive even if I don't know the game. Card games aren't like that.

I do agree that the cost is a major issue and it's becoming more of one with recent price increases. This said, even if Magic was cheaper I'm skeptical it was ever destined to be a top esport. It's not an easy game to spectate, and doubly so if you aren't super enfranchised.

@JayVNguyen Well, at $20/hr, you can replace with anything of your desire (even just spending the time with family instead or random hobby, etc.)
