My fellow Zimbabweans 🇿🇼in South Africa🇿🇦, please note that South Africans owe us absolutely nothing; what owes us everything is the ZANU PF government that has destroyed livelihoods back home and forced you to become illegal immigrants. The fact that you are hungry and sleeping on pavements in the cold is not South Africans’ problem but it is our own ZANU PF government’s failure to provide you with transport on time and process you to come back home before the 30 June ultimatum that you were given to pack and leave. ZANU PF is sending bribed Zimbabwean celebrities with fake sympathy to provide humanitarian aid and transport so they appear as saints while they are the real devil’s advocates who want to make our South African neighbors appear as evil for demanding their country back. Please come back home, let’s suffer together so that we get the courage to confront the source of our problems, which is ZANU PF. Let’s stop the blame game, instead let’s thank South Africans for being very kind to us during our time of need. We have clearly overstayed our welcome! Let us not be ungrateful visitors!

This was quite unfortunate coming from a public official. My advice to the Nigerian govt is to classify South Africa as a hostile territory for Nigerians and give periodic travel warnings. Fun fact: Nigerian foreign policies peaked when the battle to end apartheid was active

Happy 34th Anniversary, my love, Charné. It’s 34 years today, and it just keeps getting better. Thank you for always being there, through every challenge, and victory, and the dreams we share together. You are such a blessing, the anchor of our family. Thank you for loving me so faithfully and for the incredible wife, mom, Gigi, and woman of God you are. Our children and grandchildren are blessed because of the legacy you are building in them every day. You are truly a gift to the world, but I thank God that He gave you to me. I love you more today than ever before, and I’m excited for all that God still has ahead of us. Happy Anniversary, my love. Here’s to many more years of serving God together and loving each other even more. ❤️

As Zimbabweans we have spoken with one voice that MAKHADZI IS NOT WELCOME IN ZIMBABWE. We will not sit and watch Makhadzi stealing a job from our local artists. South African musicians for South Africans. In Zimbabwe we've reach a point of promoting local talents.

ANC SECRETARY GENERAL | Fikile Mbalula
[WATCH] Let us begin with gratitude. They called for a shutdown. South Africa did not shut down. Our children went to school. Our workers went to work. Our buses, our taxis and our trains ran. Our clinics and our shops stayed open. The economy kept its feet, and we foresee no grave job losses from the action. For this we thank the overwhelming majority of South Africans, who refused to be conscripted into anarchy and we thank the men and women of the South African Police Service, the Border Management Authority and our security services, who stood their ground with professionalism and restraint. Where there was violence, intimidation and looting, the law took its course, and it will continue to do so. We have said it before and we say it again: the enforcement of immigration law is the work of the democratic State, and of the State alone. No mob, no march and no self-appointed commander may take that power into their own hands. The ANC salutes the calm and the courage of ordinary South Africans, of every origin, who chose peace over the petrol bomb. But enforcement alone will never resolve what is, in truth, a continental question. No single country, acting on its own, can answer a movement of people that the whole of Africa is living through. Our continent carries the largest stock of intra-African migration in the world relative to its population approximately 40.5 million African migrants, some 21 million of whom remain on the continent, and around 35 million displaced persons of concern. The forces beneath these numbers are known to us all: the economic asymmetry between our economies; conflict, from the war in Sudan to the standing crises of the Sahel, the Horn and the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo; the shocks of a changing climate, of which Cyclones Idai and Freddy were the cruellest reminders; and a youth population that will soon be the single largest contributor to the world's working-age growth. South Africa itself, on the 2022 Census, is home to some 3.95 million foreign-born residents 6.5 per cent of our people with all the pressure that places upon our clinics, our schools and our services. It is for this reason that the Office of the Secretary General has prepared a Continental Compact on Migration in Africa, and the ANC urges our deployees in government to take it up and to place it before the African Union as the foundation for a lasting African answer. #ANCMediaBriefing #RegisterToVoteANC #YearOfDecisiveAction

According to SANTACO taxi operators, the recent marches have had a serious impact on business, making it difficult for many owners to generate enough income to cover their daily operating costs. Many taxi owners say they are still paying off vehicle finance through banks and fear that continued disruptions could lead to missed repayments and even repossession of their taxis.

CALLS TO BOYCOTT MAKHADZI SHOW GROWS IN ZIMBABWE South African music award winning singer Makhadzi scheduled performance in Cheso Music Festival to be held on July 31 has come under threat after Zimbabweans calls for the event to be cancelled over the ongoing anti-immigration protest marches that are taking place in South Africa. ZANU PF National Deputy Political Commissar of the Youth League, Taurai Kandishaya sai urged organisers to call off the or cancel all event that features South African artists saying the artists who have enjoyed support in Zimbabwe should publicly condemn the attacks. “I will not sound divisive or xenophobic here, but I believe musicians have the influence to advocate for what is right in our communities. I thought that by now, Makhadzi, after having made a fortune in Zimbabwe, could have spoken out strongly against what is happening in South Africa. For now they must perform in South Africa up until we finish repatriating our people. We cannot have a party in a village where there is a funeral!,” he said. Prophet Jay Israel also shared his sentiments. "If this show is not cancelled, as the Zimbabwean youth we will be there to make sure it doesn't happen. We are not promising violence at all but we will not accept this group in our country," Kandishaya wrote on Facebook. Makhadzi is following in the footsteps of Afro Pop duo Mafikizolo, Amapiano greats Musa Keys and Durban based Qwabe Twins who have also been cancelled by the neighbouring country.
