FINAL: Virginia Tech 76, Syracuse 74. Brutal loss at home for Syracuse following a, well, brutal loss on the road at BC. SU's offense was just dreadful in 2nd half despite the late rally. Nate Kingz had a clean look to tie it at 72 with :13 left but hit the rim.

@ChicagoRL Full no trade, putting a bad defender at third, and being the Mets at 42 a year is HILARIOUS

@ChicagoRL Not sure on this one but the Yanks have proven us wrong before. Not a lot given up but moreso concerned about the injury history

Sad about losing Dillon Lewis, I really liked his profile with the combo of high an athletic OF with crazy exit EV's and speed. If Matt Blake can improve Weathers fastball, his ceiling could be nice with a great slider +change. Young with team control is great, health is a worry
Ken Rosenthal@Ken_Rosenthal

Source confirms: Yankees acquiring LHP Ryan Weathers from Marlins for OF Dillon Lewis, OF Brendan Jones, IF Dillon Jason and IF Juan Matheus. Lewis was a player the Marlins sought in their talks with the Yankees on Edward Cabrera. First: @JackCurryYES and @CraigMish

Tuesday January 13th bracket projection: First 4⃣ Out: Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma St, Stanford Next 4⃣ Out: LSU, UCLA, Baylor, Creighton Seed 🔼: Illinois, Florida, Virginia, Saint Louis Seed 🔽: Kentucky, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas Notes: - Several teams jump from outside the field to inside the bracket, Wisconsin being the most notable after it's mammoth win in Ann Arbor. Miami (FL) and TCU also make moves into the field via a combination of their own results + what happened around them. - Horned Frogs were a particularly confusing one after losing twice this past week, but their neutral results v Florida & Wisconsin look dramatically better than they did a week ago and are carrying some hefty weight on the bubble. - Two bid A-10 is in play for this bracket (George Mason auto, Saint Louis at-large), so keep that in mind, as if it was only a one-bid league that first team out would be in the field. - The one line is a tough nut to crack right now. Arizona is the clear-cut number one overall, but after that there's seven teams who you can make varying arguments for to get to the one line (UConn, Iowa State, Michigan, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, Duke in no particular order) depending on what the Committee would want to emphasize in the resume. - I've seen some brackets dropping Michigan off the one line after this weekend, and I understand where that's coming from, but I have a lot of trouble wrapping my head around the Committee doing that right now while the Wolverines remain Top 2 in five of the six team sheet metrics (only one they aren't is SOR at 9th). - Nebraska slides up to 6th overall from 9th overall and is firmly on the 2-line (as mentioned above, think there's an argument to be made they could be the last one seed too). I struggle a bit with the predictives here as well as the non-con SOS. Think that would be hard for the Committee to overlook compared to the teams ahead of them, though the Huskers are crushing Quad 1A right now, so again, varying opinions here on Neb's placement aren't wrong. - The last four seed is a tricky spot. UNC does not have a particularly strong resume, but at this moment, it's hard to bump them. In favor of who? Everyone on the 5-line is missing something key. The likeliest team to supplant them at this point from the protected seeds would be Florida. - Feels like there is a notable drop off in quality of the overall resume mid-way through the 9-line through the Last 4 In. - Incredibly strange feeling putting this together and seeing only two SEC teams in protected seed territory (Vandy & Bama) given what transpired last year. - Likely a lot of questions as to how Kentucky is still in the bracket, let alone one of the Last 4 Byes. Cats still have a predictive average in the high 20s, a top 35 non-conf SOS that will be looked on favorably, and that neutral win over St. John's looks better this week. But the Cats are on extremely shaky ground with a 2-5 Q1/Q2 record (even UNC last year with its horrible Q1 was solid in Q2, while UK is only 1-0 right now), a 1-4 record away from Rupp, plus the resume average is in the upper 50s (needs to be mid to low 40s come Selection Sunday most likely). All that said, if the Cats lose in Baton Rouge, they are likely out of the bracket altogether very quickly. Still that time of year where one result compounds your resume flaws rapdily.

@AverageJoe_125 For sure, Bellinger makes more sense with the mets needing a CF (If they dont use Benge) but I can also see Cohen getting Tucker just because he has unlimited money
