Part of the reason they'd have to go thru the strait is they have an amphibious assault carrier (with its own complement of aircraft), shore support ships, and naval escorts. They have no ships in the Gulf right now to do an operation.

I think something that's not getting discussed about Dune is how heartbreaking Arrakis is. The Fremen stockpile water for the terraforming project but they will never be allowed to complete it: water kills the sandworm, which makes the spice which makes space travel possible.

@Runbash65 @its_hipolita It beats the Jordowsky Dune ending, where Paul becomes the Kwisatz Haderach after being killed by Hawat, the Fremen and main characters becoming a hive mind with the resurrected Paul, and he just space-time warps the planet to parts unknown.

@its_hipolita Thought about this last night watching Dune (1984). The movie ends with Paul making it rain on Arrakis “because he IS the Kwisatz Haderach!!” And I just thought “so the happy ending is everyone is trapped on whatever planet they’re on now?”

He's there to get you used to the mechanics of dying in the game.

A lot of games have gone in this direction recently, but i don’t think any has actually replicated how effective the aesthetic is in this game. Right time right place for the level of technology. The pixelation of headshots is so dark, so very forward thinking in its satire

Kane & Lynch 2 is one of the coolest game I've played in years. Such an improvement over the first one it's not even funny. The use of camcorder shaky cam effects set in Shanghai with blown out audio turns this into one of the most intense game I've ever played. A classic

I suspect that Stellan's been stealth cast since they've made the connection btwn Jessica and the Harkonnens and her going megalomaniacal from genetic-ghost-Vlad isn't impossible.
