@HansFiene Pr. Wendorf helped a woman divorce her husband without any justification, then issued her a call as a DCE after she was excommunicated from her home congregation. He refused to speak to her husband. He was just re-elected as Area C VP of the Texas District.

How does this make any sense? Getting married actually increases the power external people have over you. Family court judges being the most obvious example. Can I start ignoring the IRS because I got married? Complete drivel.
eigenrobot@eigenrobot

one thing many anti-marriage men dont understand about marriage is that yes you are giving one woman vast power over your life. but you are also reducing to ~0 the amount of power that most non-kin women have over you with a good woman, this is an exceptional trade

The Sikhs told the police that the man had not been stabbed, which delayed proper medical care. For this, the whole family should be charged with felony murder.
Sam Ashworth-Hayes@SAshworthHayes

He told the police he couldn't breathe. He told the police he'd been stabbed. British police officers handcuffed him and arrested him while he was choking on his own blood because the magic word - "racism!" - was invoked.

@23wjohnston @WmWeedon You’re exactly right. That’s why the blessed doctor of the Church, Martin Luther, urged Leo X and his followers to repent of breaking away from the clear teachings of the Apostles.

@WmWeedon Can you show me where in scripture, the writings of the apostles, or the the prophets, where it authorized a man to break away from the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church established by Jesus Christ, and start his own church.

As an expecting mom it’s so jarring to vacillate from being a Woman of Choice-Making when choosing whether to kill my baby to being a Public Health Statistical Element when choosing whether to treat my baby for STDs I don’t have to being a Gestating Person when being spoken to.

Encouraging women to get as close as possible to being a pastor without crossing whatever you consider to be "the line" is a foolish approach that leads to sin. Instead, consider what God calls women to in Scripture and encourage them to get as close as possible to that.

@AvoidPerception I think it creates a separate class within the Church which makes laymen think lay evangelism isn't a thing "Leave it to the professionals" It's just how people work unfortunately which is why I would make it a training program to distribute across congregations

I’ve just been informed that “the only things women can’t do are Word & Sacrament ministry.” Somehow this excludes evangelism, which I suppose means it is being done without the Word. Surely it also excludes holding headship over your husband.
Matthew E. Cochran@matt_e_cochran

@PsalmWarfare Oh, it'll be used towards something: encouraging the wife to usurp spiritual leadership in the home because she's "more qualified."

@ArtGuy313578051 I see. I think, belonging to different synods, this is a practical question which is not meaningfully at issue between us. I am saying that missionaries/preachers should be trained, and, first of all, men.

@ArtGuy313578051 FWIW I’m referring to an LCMS program and am not sure what you’re referring to. The program in question ordains functionally untrained women to preach with no plan to connect their hearers to a church.

@AvoidPerception I disagree with this program. Missionaries should primarily be trained in their local parishes not all shipped off to a seminary with an isolated monoculture with college tuition. I'd have an exception for foreign missionaries but that's it

@ArtGuy313578051 I am not arguing that we should not have courts; I agree with that point. My point is that we must establish an effective enforcement mechanism and remove the men who allow evil to continue in the Church.

@robthemany @Carol52538896 @Infanttheology @account_plain Simply read the screenshots in the OP. It is asserted that desiring homosexual intercourse is not a sin, and that such a desire was experienced by Christ. This is what Pr. Rosebrough is defending.
Theology Like a Child@Infanttheology

Help me out.. Do some in @thelcms have a new theology? Jesus was only externally tempted, but he nevertheless desired homosexual activity when the devil put such desires in his heart? Smaller than a speck!? No worries? This was part of his experiencing punishment for our sin?

Pastor, allow me to do you a solid. Out of all the comments you've left on my timeline the past few months this is the first I've bothered to read in a while. If they are uniformly of this quality you only demonstrate to all you are a man not to be taken seriously.
