real talent is scarce. then again, there remains an abundance of people who are willing to work and learn if shown the opportunity. personally, if i was doing any business in Nigeria and intended to compete globally, i would invest in the talent pipeline. partner with schools if you have to, or fund programs that expose students to the problem spaces you are grappling with. filter for the top of the crop, the self motivated. if you engage this effort consistently for 3-5 years, you’ll already have some talent density starting to form within your network. moniepoint is already doing this, same with any serious company because they don’t need to be told the importance of investing in a talent pipeline. everybody go dey alright.

Emotions everywhere. Youtube Premium is about N5000 Naira in Nigeria. In the UK, it's from £14. Adobe Cloud subscription is about N55k in Nigeria. It's £66 pounds in the UK. This is the same with Netflix and many others. Location pricing exits. Thats why Netflix Naija will never pay their Nigerian staff £3000-6000 per month like they do in the UK. This is the same reason various companies moved their manufacturing to China - cheap labour. "Get someone in Canada to do it" No, he will not do that. Someone in Nigeria will be in his inbox asking to do the job. Should he consider pushing the price up? Yes. But paying the same as he would pay in Canada? Is that a joke?

The risk assessment in this "bear vs man" discourse is fundamentally broken, and watching women confidently choose the bear is peak internet delusion. Y'all will meet up with anonymous Tinder matches every weekend, leave clubs with strange men just because they drive a luxury car, go home with celebrities from backstage, and voluntarily date literal drug lords. You take massive, unchecked risks with strange men every single day. But drop you in a hypothetical forest, and suddenly a man is more dangerous than a 600lb apex predator just so you can win a gender war argument? The performative IQ is completely in the mud. Please rest.

It’s not about the bear. It’s about why that feels safer.

Man of Letters.
Man of Letters.@Letter_to_Jack·
Young people, before you build wealth, you have to first build your comfort. Personal comfort is the fertilizer that helps you grow through clear thinking and peace of mind. You are buying stocks at the risk of going hungry. Why not eat first? Satisfy your moderate/reasonable cravings, reward yourself. This is how you find the strength to keep pushing. You are saving, yet the room that you take your rests in everyday is in poor condition. No proper bed. You refused to get an Air Conditioner. Your bedsheet has not been changed in years, your pillow is so worn out and dirty that it could wake the dead if placed under their head. Your underwears (boxers and bra) have not been changed for years. You don’t invest in smelling nice. Why can’t you take care of yourself first? You are saving when you can afford to rent apartment in a better, more peaceful and serene environment. Yet you remain in an environment filled with unbearable stench and with high security risk. Overtime, that stench becomes your natural ooze, and the insecurity would consume a chunk of that money you saved when they steal your generator or rob you. Your standards will drop without you realizing it. You would have grown so accustomed to that slum you’ve decided to root yourself in that the low standard of living and discomfort becomes normal to you. Eventually, you start to reflect that environment in your behavior and lifestyle; your behavior becomes unrefined and local. The stench becomes ‘clean air’ to you. You lose your sense of smell, that you can’t tell when your armpit is smelling anymore. You are saving, you’ve saved enough to buy a car to push around, yet you prefer to mount Okada and public transport. Depriving yourself of the barest minimum utility that could greatly improve your efficiency, time saving and quality of life, because you are saving. One day, you will fall on the okada or you’ll have a fight with a conductor and they’ll remove your teeth. You are saving, but you won’t provide better nutrition for your children even when you can afford it. You forget that proper feeding today prevents bigger health expenses tomorrow. What you avoid now, you may end up paying for later in treatments. Saving is important, but it is not wisdom to ignore immediate needs. There is no virtue in suffering when you have the means to live better. In all things, wisdom is key. Do not deprive yourself, and do not live beyond your capacity. Find balance.

Take note that saying "Salam" is not a proper Tasleem; you should give the full greeting to get the full reward. Here is the roadmap for you to follow when you need guidance on a choice. 1.Perform your wudu and make sure you are in a state of purity. 2.Pray two voluntary rak’ahs of prayer that are not part of your obligatory five daily prayers. 3.After the prayer, you recite the specific dua of Istikharah. You can say it before or after the final Tasleem of your prayer. Here is the dua as narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah in Sahih al-Bukhari: Meaning: O Allah, I consult You through Your knowledge, and I seek strength through Your power, and I ask of Your great bounty; for You are capable and I am not, and You know and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my final outcome, then ordain it for me and make it easy for me, then bless me in it. But if You know that this matter is evil for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my final outcome, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and ordain for me what is good wherever it may be, and make me content with it. (When you reach the part about "this matter, —the bolded text" you mention the specific thing you are deciding on). What to look for after 1. Once you have prayed, move forward with your decision. If Allah makes the path smooth and doors open without you having to force them, that is your answer. It is a sign of good. 2. If you find that every turn brings a new problem or if you feel a heavy, unexplained discomfort in your chest regarding the choice, take that as a sign to stop. 3. Consult others who know better than you. Guidance often comes through the mouths of others. Speak to people you trust who have experience in the matter you are dealing with. In conclusion, relying on Allah means you have done your part by asking Him and now you trust that whatever happens next is what is best for you. Don't sit around waiting for a dream. If you asked, He is already answering through the reality of the situation. Trust the process and keep your heart still. Allah knows best.

Hello 👏🏿👏🏿🚨 I hope you all are having a great time. I have one sister who is in dire need of 75k to complete their school fees. As you know, I don’t joke about anything to do with education. The sister is apparently a LASU student, and I have confirmed all their student details and the school fees information. The total amount to be paid = 150,000 Amount paid (First Sem) = 75,000 Amount to be paid = 75,000 The portal will be closed on Monday. This is why I have reached out on her behalf. Please, if you are willing to contribute and you need evidence, I will be willing to provide it. For confidentiality purposes, I will not post her here. Please reach out, and I will show you all the details. No amount is too small—even your 1k counts. Thank you and God bless you 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Many people feel they need to give their parents a lot of money before they can truly repay them, and that pressure weighs on them. That feeling is valid. But repayment is not only about wealth. One of the most meaningful things you can do is consistently make du’ā for them, as Allah has instructed, especially as they grow older. It is a powerful way to show gratitude and ask for mercy on their behalf, whether they are alive or have passed on. Keep them in your prayers after every Salāh and whenever they cross your mind. 🤲🏼 رب ارحمهما كما ربياني صغيرا

Happy New Month ❤️ UPDATE on my mum's breast cancer treatment 🙏🏾 First, thank you. We've raised ₦2.5 million so far and I am genuinely overwhelmed by the love and support. Every naira has mattered. But I need to share some difficult news. Earlier in her treatment, a scan showed that the lump in her breast wasn't shrinking with the chemo drugs she was on. Her Oncologist had to switch her to stronger chemotherapy drugs Paclitaxel and Carboplatin. She pushed through her 4th and 5th chemo cycles with those, and she did it like the warrior she is. Unfortunately, after another scan done yesterday, the results showed that the lump is still not shrinking. Worse, it has started spreading into the muscle behind her breast (the pectoralis muscle). This means chemo alone is no longer enough. Her doctors at LUTH have now advised that she needs surgery. This changes things significantly both in terms of the medical process and the cost involved. We still have a long road ahead, and our goal is ₦5 million. We're at ₦2.5M halfway there but with surgery now on the table, every single contribution matters more than ever. Please: 🔁 Repost this 💛 Donate whatever you can 📲 Tag anyone who might be able to help Access Bank: 1224150010 Oluwaseun Gabriel My mum deserves to fight this with everything she's got. Thank you for being part of that fight. 🤍

Family is really everything! The AbdulRazaq guy that had his kidney and liver transplant in India recently has the best humans around him as family. Apparently his younger brother donated a liver and his mother donated a kidney for him. I am really glad the surgery went well.

Final tweet of the day... And I hope you see this. Men, I beg you in the name of God... Prioritize yourself. Your health, your happiness, your peace. I understand society has you wired to be a provider and put everyone else before yourself. But, you will just die like chicken, and for nothing too.
