You are missing the basics here. In this specific case, at this point in time, Asim Munir's survival is tied to dodging this geopolitical bullet.
Pakistan is answerable to Saudi Arabia via a defence pact nobody has seen, and is a non-hostile neighbour of Iran. Asim Munir's survival is linked to avoid being hostile to Iran without pissing off Saudis and Americans. Pakistan, while it signed a pact because of $$, never wants to actually have to fight a war. We see this very clearly in all the moves Pakistan made over the past few weeks.
Should I wish war upon Iran or chaos in the region just because I want to see Asim Munir fail?
Asim Munir is my enemy as far as he has stolen my rights and unjustly jailed hundreds of Pakistanis. But I can deal with him on my own terms. We can deal with our enemy without rooting for an outcome that puts the lives of millions of Iranians at risk. We do not want to win this way.
So, in this particular case, right now, with the information I see, I really hope Asim Munir dodges this bullet, for himself, for us, for everyone.

this is a flawed argument - the only constant in Pakistan’s moves, countermoves and whatnot is the survival of the military regime at any cost; - be it the double, triple, quadruple games they’re playing - be it offers to facilitate Trump or play the messenger for the 15 points surrender offer - be it posturing or the faux expressions of brotherliness towards Iran or the mutual defense pact with Saudi Arabia - be it the premature celebration of imaginary diplomatic success over non existent facilitation of nonexistent peace talks - be it the continued abduction of dissidents at home or the continued kidnapping and incarceration / oppression of political opposition -be it the lies, deception, peace overtures, the theft and the corruption -be it anything under the sun and accept Trump as god It all serves one purpose - the survival of the Field Marshal’s illegal totalitarian regime - nothing more. nothing less. there is no Nobel cause. There is only personal, selfish survival.

One advantage the Iranians have is that their entire elite seems to consist of 130 IQ polymath combat veterans with PhDs who stormed across minefields with fixed bayonets surrounded by poison gas back in the day and then spent 30 years studying philosophy, game theory, engineering and military science. Average decision-maker quality appears to be dramatically higher than elsewhere, especially qualified for shit-hits-the-fan situations
