Atheisim is a simple 'No' Answer to the Question "do you believe in a god or gods?"

Except it DOES assert something ("God doesn't exist", "Man made him up", "There is no evidence of God", to name only a few) and the idea that it doesn't is nonsense you came up with to give yourselves the "neutral" position.

But God is a metaphysical claim a priori (reason), not a posteriori (empirical observation).
Claiming that you don't believe in God because you cannot empirically observe him a posteriori is using the wrong tool for the job. You cannot detect logic, math or modal truth through empirical observation either, yet you trust them, believe in them and depend on them every day.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. In this case, you are demanding the wrong type of evidence. It's like claiming that the colour blue does not taste like mushy peas because you cannot detect it using a microphone.

I’m confused because I thought that atheists believe in evolution and common ancestry. Could there not have been certain species that were on the Ark and then after they were released, different species were spawned as time marched on?
That’s not what I believe, but I do posit the question because again, we don’t have definitive proof and must rely on faith.
