@HongZhou1110308 The Tathāgatagharba display the universal goal of buddhahood, the prajñāpāramitā are the practice and contemplation of bodhisattvas and the Sublime Lotus is the thread which weaves together all the teachings into the web of Dharma. The Tendai school will help one understand 🙏

The Lotus Sutra says one thing, the Tathāgatagarbha sutras say something else, the Prajñāpāramitā sutras say something different, & the Tantras say yet another. How do you reconcile these contradictory teachings when you don't stick to 1 tradition but instead jump to all of them?

@B0dhisattvaa There are lots of such stories, & I love them. The idea of Avīci Hell always disturbed me as a kid when I got to know about it. Seeing Arhats & bodhisattvas descend into hell to save beings is such a beautiful idea. I'm deeply grateful to all true sons of the Buddha who do this.

Whats interesting is that there is kind of a Ksitigharba equivalent in Thai Theravada (and southeast asia in general). Venerable Phra Malai was a arhat that descended into the lower realms to look after the hell beings. He even went to Tushita and met maitreya!

@HongZhou1110308 Exactly! Ksitigharba literally was a delusional being that practiced buddhism, vowed to help beings endlessly in the hell realms whereas god gave his "human body" for a weekend. The difference in compassion is huge

@B0dhisattvaa Yes. For instance, I have no belief in Amitabha. I have put firm belief in the Seven Buddhas of Antiquity. Now for this, Amitabha won't be jealous and send me to everlasting and eternal hellfire without any chance. I will put Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's sacrifice greater than YHWH.

Now I understand why talking to Christians is so frustrating. They spew nonsense without any knowledge beyond their faith, then declare Christianity the best and only unique system, when their whole theology gets wrecked by evolutionary theory. Btw, Shin Buddhism says hello.

@SeenSeerSelf Saying Buddhism doesn’t need faith is a rather recent phenomenon much more prominent in the west than in countries with a major buddhist percentage. Starting with faith is a good step!

Anything which becomes and religion will have such problems and faith comes in . Buddhists have way to say that there is not faith needed direct knowing is possible but see. Haha so fun seeing religion retards like this

@chamarslayer69 @Vajrasuci @SeenSeerSelf The Buddha is not a God so thats the first mistake. The second is that the Buddha discouraged such extremes asceticism like eating cow dung, grass etc. He was still considered a Bodhisattva at that time so no, buddhists don’t do that. Gassho

@Vajrasuci I hope you didn't skip its intro and epilogue—the Sutra of Innumerable Meanings and the Samantabhadra Meditation Sutra. They are read together with the Lotus Sutra. Thus thier complete name: Threefold Lotus Sutra. I reading about this when I was looking into Nicherin/Tendai.

In the Saddharma Puṇḍarīka Sūtra, the Buddha illuminates eighteen thousand Buddha-fields with a ray of light, revealing countless worlds and the beings within them. Maitreya is left spellbound. Unable to contain his wonder and curiosity, he turns to Mañjuśrī and asks what could possibly be the reason for such an extraordinary miracle. Mañjuśrī , who is often called Buddhaputra because he is regarded as the foremost among the Buddha's spiritual heirs, responds with a series of magnificent metaphors describing what he understands to be the Tathāgata's intention. महाधर्मवृष्ट्यभिप्रवर्षणं च महाधर्मदुन्दुभिसंप्रवादनं च महाधर्मध्वजसमुच्छ्रयणं च महाधर्मोल्कासंप्रज्वालनं च महाधर्मशङ्खाभिप्रपूरणं च महाधर्मभेरीपराहणनं च महाधर्मनिर्देशं च अद्य कुलपुत्रास्तथागतस्य कर्तुमभिप्रायः। Today, the Tathāgata intends: • to shower forth the great rain of the Dharma; • to sound the great Drum of the Dharma; • to raise aloft the great Banner of the Dharma; • to kindle the great Torch of the Dharma; • to sound the great Conch of the Dharma; • to beat the great Proclamation Drum of the Dharma; • and to expound the great Dharma.

@Vajrasuci As Master Vasubandhu says in his Saddharmapundarikaupadesa: "It is called “The Wheel of the Dharma Set in Motion by All the Buddhas,” because all the obstructions can be destroyed through this religious discourse." The Sublime Lotus is that which all Buddhas abide in.

"Dragon-King, know that Bodhisattvas have a dharma that can end one's suffering of walking the evil life-paths. What is this one dharma? It is to remember and ponder good dharmas [as one observes oneself] day and night, enabling good dharmas to grow…"

Panditavagga Verse 77: The man of wisdom should admonish others; he should give advice and should prevent others from doing wrong; such a man is held dear by the good; he is disliked only by the bad.
