#OnThisDay an air raid during WW2 hit 300 homes, injuring 90 and killing 28 in North Strand. On-coming Firefighters joined off-going Firefighters and those called in off leave to extinguish dozens of fires burning in the rubble and the search for casualties.

Rescue swimmer firefighters responded to five people in the River #Liffey this evening. @gardainfo were on scene with life rings and after entering the water a firefighter brought one person to our rescue boat. Four other people were accounted for.

Firefighters from Phibsborough and Blanchardstown carried out a swiftwater rescue drill on the Royal Canal yesterday. A fibre light ladder was used to enter the water, and a quad pod was used to raise the patient from the water.

#ThrowbackThursday is the passout parade of Class 1/2013 in April 2014. This had been the first one since 2009 and a lot has changed since then including our PPE. The training for these recruits was featured on the @RTEOne programme @firefighters_tv #TBT #TBThursday

Five years ago, we heard of the sudden passing of our colleague Dave McLoughlin. With Covid-19 restrictions we couldn't hold a normal firefighter funeral.
