More upgrades across south London, with new cables installed to improve signalling resilience in the Lewisham area. 📡⚡ Between Victoria and Clapham Junction, we installed new electric cable and maintained the axle counters — systems that detect if a section of track is clear. 🚨🛤️ Our teams carried out embankment scaling, critical work to remove rocks, and vegetation clearance at Carshalton. 🌿🪨 Thank you to all our teams for the great work — and to passengers for your understanding while we improve the railway. 🙏🚆💛 🧵2/2

Over the weekend, our engineers were out improving the railway for better journeys for @Se_Railway , @SouthernRailUK and @TLRailUK passengers. 🚆✨ In Kent, our teams delivered new switches and crossings at Swanley — the kit that allows trains to change track. 🔀🔧 For smoother journeys, we also laid over 660 metres of new rail at Longfield and over 620 metres at Otford Jn. 🛤️💨 🧵1/2

🚆 Our teams were hard at work across the network last weekend, making improvements to help deliver smoother journeys for @SouthernRailUK , @Se_Railway and @TLRailUK passengers. 🔧 Here’s what we completed: • 🛤️ West St Leonards — laid over 363 yards of new rail • 🔁 Loughborough Junction — refurbished vital points and crossings that allow trains to change track • 🌉 Ford River Bridge — installed new wheel timbers on the 1930's bridge 🌊 Ongoing embankment repairs near Battle on the River Brede • 🚶‍♀️ Petts Wood — continued our work on renewing the footbridge • 💡In the Lewisham area & at London Victoria — progressed our signalling upgrade, installing new cables and upgrading signals. 🙏 Thank you for your patience while we carried out these essential improvements.
