@mipsytipsy @kevdog My guess that anyone that makes their own ORM and is proud of it will want to discuss it as much as possible. Someone that makes their own ORM but is ashamed of it has a good business reason for doing it otherwise they wouldn't have done it... right?

Now I'm wondering what question @kevdog used to tease out this tidbit. 🤔 "What's the worst technical decision made by a founder that you still labor under today, and why?" "Do your technical founders still exert influence over technical decisions? How much, and why?"

This is one of the smartest reasons for not taking a job that I've ever heard. THIS is the kind of 💩you should be interviewing your employers for. "Use my home baked ORM" is bad enough, but you know it doesn't end there. This is just the tip of the iceberg. 🙈

Saw a clown stick major account on here playing whataboutism when it comes to massacring a few hundred music festival goers. Perfectly normal behavior.

@ranman What is a "technical" product? If you are using tech to fix or improve a workflow that is very different than creating a deeply technical product like a database

@kwuchu I honestly wonder what % of GH PRs are generated by Dependabot. At Cloudquery Dependabot definitely plays a HUGE role

We recently crossed 9000 PRs within our Ruby on Rails codebase (granted, Dependabot plays a huge part in those). It's still crazy that this codebase is only 3 years old.

@kpolley Why should this be a page? There are tools that can auto remediate the issue in near realtime. Deal with it during normal working hours.

@aarondfrancis For cloud platforms don't just read them once. Review it periodically. A service you thought you knew a year ago can have a lot of new functionality in a short amount of time

One of the easiest ways to gain a relative advantage in your field is to read the docs. Not just reference them, read them straight through. This gives you a massive edge because no one ever does it! Same goes for technical books, they'll give you superpowers.

What are some random API design choices that you like? What are some things people don't often think about when making APIs? Yes, I am building an API. No, I can't be more specific at this time.
