@VegasUncomped Think its funny that Seattle, who people were sure going to enjoy as much success as VGK, have been to the playoffs once in five seasons

@VitalVegas I would agree that Wynncore is currently the top spot, but was criticized when compared to Bellagio in 2005. RW and FB are nice places that really get crapped on because of lack of theme. Goes to show that, as flawed as he was, LV misses Steve.

@John_Mehaffey @PitBoss_AP What year did 000 appear, 2016? Even though crapless has been around for a while thanks to Stupak, it was only a matter a time before they bastardized craps too

@PitBoss_AP We released to our Patreon subscribers the math behind crapless. It will be on one of our sites in a few weeks. I can't believe a game that was down to one Las Vegas casino before covid is now at 38, plus all the ETG and hybrid forms.

I am writing about NV gaming rev reports and learned something new. Crapless does not report under craps. It's under "Other." I figured this out bc downtown's report says only 11 have craps, while 12 deal blackjack. Strat reports with downtown. Its only dice tables are crapless.

@RadioFreeTom What a cop out. I lived through the 70’s as well. And the failure of trickle down economics and sweeping deregulation helped us in no way.

@BCDB1234 @John_Mehaffey $25 feels about right for the main floor for table games. Craps? $25 as well. Your thoughts?

We just published our findings on how much Las Vegas minimum bets have changed since January 2020. The average across all 63 casinos in our study was +75.71%, with the highest +353.17%. Two decreased. Three stayed the same. The results are here: vegasadvantage.com/table-game-inf…

@John_Mehaffey Id also love to know what the changes have been since 2011 as well. Also, as in, what were the most common mins for 3/2 and craps on the Strip and downtown in 2011, 2020, and 2025.

@John_Mehaffey To anyone who decries the absence of $5 min tables... ...how do you reasonable expect casinos to pay for their (increasing) costs? Including for those casino workers who wanted to be paid more...

When Charlie Kirk was murdered, those of us on the conservative side rightly chastised those of our political adversaries who cheered and celebrated his death. We accused them--again rightly--of shameful callousness and of polluting public discourse and coarsening social life. What President Trump does here merits the same chastisement, for the same reasons.

@RadioFreeTom I know you probably have some incentive to try and demonize the American people overseas, and that’s pretty shitty if you ask me, but it really is a reflection of the Democratic Party above all else. They kept it close with Trump on purpose.

📍Las Vegas, Nevada Got a call from an old friend who was going through something and asked if I wanted to casino with him. Dumb question. So off we went, starting the night at GVR. With the banks closed my bankroll was a little lighter than I like, but sometimes you just gotta say fuck it and see what happens. Green Valley Ranch is in the middle of a remodel, but they still have some of the friendliest dealers and pit staff in town. The cards were friendly too. We had a table to ourselves for the better part of three hours before the weekend crowd started rolling in. After some chit-chat with a couple dealers who remembered me, we colored up. Profit was $400 for me and $875 for my friend. Not exactly Jeff Bezos money, but enough to keep the night interesting. The night was still young, so we decided to swing by Durango. First time playing there and it didn’t disappoint. The cards kept whispering sweet nothings in our ears. Pretty sure the dealer was having more fun than we were. I usually ignore the side bets, but an Asian woman joined the table playing “Pair Square” at $25 a pop and hit it four times in her first shuffle. Then two more times in the next. When it's your night it's your night I guess. After getting up $830 for me and $600 for my co-defendant, we decided to finish the night at Red Rock. Red Rock was the liveliest of the three. We found a table in the middle of the chaos with two younger guys already playing. After quick introductions we went to work. More ups and downs than a roller coaster but eventually we found a rhythm. Somehow we sat there for five hours. The two other guys had some interesting timepieces strapped to their wrists, so the conversation drifted from blackjack to watches. Only in Vegas do you go from splitting eights to discussing Pateks at two in the morning with strangers. We spotted a Bob Saget look-alike. Saw “influencers” influencing. Girls barely dressed. Random guys work on the next morning's hangover. When I’d had enough and was basically even, my friend decided he wanted to play slots. So we wandered over to Huff and Puff and kept talking story into the early morning. He hit a bonus for close to $10k while I hit absolutely nothing... All told, not a bad night. +$1,230 for me +$11,475 for my friend

@LasVegasLocally Baccarat whales can tip the monthly numbers. That said, still a pretty steep drop. With all other metrics decreasing, it’s not something Las Vegas wants to see. Gonna need the low roller ploppies back.

Las Vegas Strip gaming win revenue plummeted 11% in January. Downtown casinos saw a 5.2% drop. Statewide, Nevada casino revenue fell nearly 7% YoY. It was a good month to be a gambler.

Casinos were right to freak out about the new law that limits gambling loss deductions to 90%, spooked a lot of gaming enthusiasts. We quit gambling (still play, but only with free play and winnings) for other reasons, but that Big Beautiful Botch hasn’t helped.
Howard Stutz@howardstutz

A disastrous start to 2026 - Strip gaming revenue fell 11% in January to $747.6M Every market in Southern Nevada - except North Las Vegas and Mesquite - fell in the month. Nevada overall was down than 6.5%. A good month from Northern Nevada softened the dip. @TheNVIndy @NevadaGCB

@VegasWanderings Every Las Vegas Strip casino has a 3/2 blackjack game except Slots A Fun and O'Sheas, which are attached to casinos with 3/2 games. Most have it on the floor. Luxor and Resorts World are the exceptions, as it is only in the salon there.

Luxor joined the $5 blackjack club. The lone table of it pays 6:5, like the one at Excalibur does. The expected loss per hand is about the same between a $5 6:5 game and a $15 3:2 one.

@VitalVegas After the 1998-2000 class of places, I wondered about how much more nice can they make these properties. Wynncore, RW, and FB are perfectly fine places, but don't move the needle like the 90s joints. And then throw in resort and parking fees, crappy gambling rules, and high mins
