We are a choir made up of migrant care workers who are here under the skilled worker visa scheme. Through song we hope to raise awareness of exploitation
📹📢 Yesterday, overseas staff working in social care and the NHS travelled to Westminster to lobby MPs over plans to restrict visa rules for care workers. 💜✊ Today, on #InternationalMigrantsDay, we recognise the migrant workers whose voices were at the heart of that lobby.
I’m campaigning against unfair changes to Indefinite Leave to Remain. I delivered a letter to the Home Office signed by @AndreaEganGS, 70+ parliamentarians and 33 civil society groups. These plans will divide communities and damage services. Ministers must think again.
Migrant care workers are suffering terrible exploitation in plain sight in the UK. They have left their homelands to provide care to our loved ones but they'e often abused by unscrupulous employers. We aim to raise awareness of the issue. Hear our song! youtu.be/Nk72GqRv28g
