It was great to meet with @UnionSteveW again at Hamworthy Fire Station, to show our support for keeping it open. If you haven’t already filled in the consultation, please make sure you have your voice heard and together we can save Hamworthy Fire Station.
Fire Brigades Union@fbunational

FBU general secretary @UnionSteveW is in Dorset & Wiltshire – visiting stations, speaking with members, and backing the campaign against proposals to close 8 fire stations. This isn’t just a local fight – it’s a national one to defend our fire and rescue service.

The Government has launched its trail hunting consultation. "Trail hunting" is a smokescreen used to kill foxes. This is our chance to end this bloodsport for good. That means a watertight ban. I’m working on a gold-standard bill to support Government to get the job done.

My proposal would break the link between companies getting contracts with the Government's they pay to elect. It's common sense. The amendment doesn't mention any specific party. It's about integrity in politics. Why don't you put the pettiness aside and support it?

@NeilForPoole I take it the Government won't be engaging with public sector unions funnelling cash to the Labour Party then?

I support our posties in Poole, they're working hard in difficult conditions. The workforce and the public are being let down by Royal Mail bosses. #StandByYourPostie

I’m campaigning to stop political donors getting Government contracts. 14 million people went hungry last year, we owe it to them to ensure decisions are made in the public interest. Cosy relationships with vested interests undermine trust in politics. Time to break the link.

I'm supporting the @UKTogetherAll march on Saturday. The far-right playbook won't put a single penny in ordinary people's pockets. They want to turn you against your neighbours so the super-rich can keep robbing us all blind. Choose unity over division.

Trail hunting is a smokescreen for killing animals. Labour was elected promising to strengthen anti-hunting laws. Polling shows people in rural areas support ending trail hunting. We must not be deterred by out of touch, millionaires like "Jacob Rees-Mogg".
Jacob Rees-Mogg@Jacob_Rees_Mogg

Don’t sign this if you are a snowflake, do sign if you support the countryside. Stop the ban on trail hunting - Petitions petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7551…

The Government's so-called "Earned Settlement" proposals are upside down. Underpaid social workers contributing to their community will get shafted. Punishing these workers doesn't support cohesion or assimilation - it does the opposite.

I’ve called on the Government to ban the “givers and takers” - donors who bankroll political parties and land Government contracts. It stinks. We need to break this link and restore trust in politics.

I voted against raising tuition fees. We can’t keep piling debt on young people just for wanting an education. We all benefit from an educated workforce. Students shouldn't be saddled with a lifetime of debt for getting one.

Great news that greyhound racing will be banned in Wales! Pushing dogs to their limits for entertainment and profit leaves many with life‑changing injuries - and too often an early death. Westminster should follow suit and call the last lap on greyhound racing.

The super‑rich want to keep getting richer and influence our politics to get their way. We need to tackle the corrosive influence of big money and empower working people to rebalance our democracy. Defending the right to protest is key to that. tribunemag.co.uk/2026/03/big-mo…

Defend the right to protest ✊ Ordinary people only get heard when they organise collectively. Putting barriers in the way of protest only serves the elite. Labour should be empowering working people - not taking away the tools they need to stand up to the powerful.

The changes to Settlement Rights will hurt all of us. The value of our economy isn’t in bankers or billionaires. It’s workers, wherever they're from, who keep Britain moving. Our Government shouldn't break it's promises to those working hard & contributing to our country.

Labour must declare war on poverty and inequality. One step is implementing the socio-economic duty so public bodies consider poverty in everything they do.

Punishing migrant workers won't solve our problems. They never caused them. Migrants didn't break the NHS - people from across the world staff it. Migrant workers didn't make households poorer. It was the super-rich taking a bigger share. We need solutions, not scapegoats.

Ministers said Motability changes wouldn’t impact disabled people. @TransportForAll has compiled testimony from disabled people that calls this into question. I’ve written to the Government with 70 organisations raising concerns. Ministers must listen to disabled people.
