You are confusing this with a philosophical or ideological debate. It is just simply about best practices bolstering trust in the system. Voting, while it is a right, is probably the greatest privilege we have in this country. Showing you idea to vote (with reasonable confidentiality safeguards) should be the least controversial item we discuss.

@ChuckFlay @conorsen Except those aren’t really “social” policies like housing subsidies, welfare, food stamps, unemployment, Medicare, etc. just smart economically principled policy ideas. Say this 50+ who has a child and lived in all three dynamics in his lifetime - Rural, Suburban, and Urban.

@conorsen It’s not nice or open-minded or entirely epistemologically sound of me but anyone prescribing transit, urban planning, housing, or related social policies while childless under the age of 35 gets ignored by me with the same aggressiveness I ignore e.g. the hard right

So much urban cultural discourse on here is just “I’m 27 and childless. I can’t possibly imagine being 40 and having kids. Fortunately I will never be 40 so I don’t have to think about it.”

@UrbanCourtyard @conorsen Feels like three new strains of disease have emerged. UDS - Urban Derangement Syndrome SDS - Suburban (or Sprawl) Derangement Syndrome and RDS - Rural Derangement Syndrome People have forgotten (camp mentality) that variety is the spice of life.

There is a lesson here. Tempe is part of the greater Phoenix metro area (which also includes Scottsdale, Glendale, Mesa, etc…) and is the home of Arizona State University. As a Utahn I’d like to say thank you to Tempe for sharing this idea and for sending us the @utahmammoth @UtahMammoth_PR @RyanQualtrics @GovCox @slcmayor @WaldripSteve
Culdesac@culdesac

7 years ago, we got laughed out of the room. Now, leaders from all over the country are visiting Culdesac Tempe asking, "How can I bring this to my city?"

You actually highlighted this exact dynamic in the Yahoo Finance piece — new business formation is exploding because AI lets founders attack industries that overcharge through information asymmetry. That's our story at ChargeRight. Electricians charge $150-$300 for a service call to tell homeowners if their panel can handle an EV charger. We do the same NEC 220.82 load calculation for $12.99 with AI. 80% of homeowners don't need the $3K-$5K panel upgrade they're being sold. The trust system you're describing is coming whether incumbents want it or not. finance.yahoo.com/news/mark-cuba…

That is not to say agents won't have value for you. There is a reason that the big online retailers like Amazon are doing all they can to stop agents from having access to their prices. They know their prices aren't the lowest, that they price not only to market, but to your price points. Could this be where Amazon takes a hit ? "Send your agent to our website to shop for everything. Actual shipping cost. Not member fees. We aren't afraid of your shopping agents! We welcome them " And what about companies like Temu and Shein..OMG. How do we even determine the tax domicile of a source when agents will do all work to determine how to mislead import offices ? And it's very feasible today to use AI to figure out the best selling products on Amazon and then just tell AI to knock it off. Literally. Only solution is a trust system where a vendor puts down a bond before they can sell anything to any person or agent in the USA , and allow everyone to compare that product to their own to determine if it's a knockoff or original. And after that 90 day review, gov AI agents approve or reject their ability to sell to USA residences. And if they do , the agent has to pay to the feds, their taxes, sales and estimated income tax , on each sale Shit gonna get crazy We need to start thinking about how we allow international companies access and how we protect our companies

@KatoParinaSLC Did you know AJ was in the house last night. Was sitting in Section 9, probably about row 10,11. Parked next to him a block away from the Delta Center. I’m 6’3” and he made me look short!

Welcome to the start of spring ski season. We asked winter sports enthusiasts in Vail, Colorado, if the Epic Season Pass is worth it—and how much they'd pay. The pass costs around $1,000 and offers access to 42 Vail Resorts properties worldwide—from Stowe to Whistler to the Swiss Alps.

@eastdakota In 1978/79 there were 50mm ski visits that season. Now its 10% higher. And population is what almost doubled? They need to grow the pie not make it more exclusive.

While we're discussing wildlife overpasses, let's discuss why they're important: They prevent ~97% of wildlife collisions They singlehandedly save wildlife populations (and migration patterns) They can save our country $10B per year BUT...they (should) cost $5-15M, not $100M

It is precisely when you think you have all the answers that actually don’t know the answer. Sometimes you ask a question to reinforce a point sometimes you ask a question to add more weight to the point. I’ll keep it simple for you - start by asking just one question, it shouldn’t be too taxing even for you.

@SkiTownRE It is when you are talking 30 to 40. And the average daily difference over the 8 days is probably more like 6 degrees. When it is late March anything north of 50 with no refreeze overnight is a killer.
