Something I've been curious about in tech media and, well, media about media. There're always stories about layoffs. Microsoft let people go? Five or six sites write about it. Conde let people go? Most sites about media write about it. Do these stories move the needle, though? It's sad for the people affected, but I'm not clear on who the target audience is and/or how this helps people make better decisions.

@BDFisch Way more than headlines find their way to X. Text and screengrabs are pasted, entire accounts are dedicated to aggregating info on various topics - particularly if new information. I’d wager very little of interest doesn’t - just background info that AI can piece together easily.

Performance marketing is so much fun. I’ve also recently learned there are tons of use cases outside DTC and affiliate marketing. I’ve started to work with a nonprofit to help optimize their small donation flow and would love to build a case study but I could use some DTC help.

I love rehabilitating an affiliate program. In 3 months e-commerce brands can go from reliance on coupon & loyalty lower funnel to multiple content, discovery & high quality media partners into top their 10 partners. Diversification & a full funnel approach is more incremental.
