The U.S. has blocked defense sales to several countries even after payments or agreements. Turkey paid billions for the F-35 Lightning II but was removed from the program. Iran paid for fighter jets before the Iranian Revolution and never received them. Pakistan repeatedly faced the suspension of F-16 Fighting Falcon deliveries and upgrades. Indonesia also had U.S. military equipment deliveries blocked in the 1990s.

But the world is connected: US shutdowns hit remittances, aid flows, and trade that millions here rely on. Caring about both isn't mutually exclusive, it's practical. Prioritizing doesn't mean ignoring ripple effects. Let's push for accountability everywhere.

A bill passed the Senate last night 100-0 to fund TSA, the Coast Guard and FEMA. If Speaker Johnson called it for a vote it would pass easily.
But he won’t do that. Because Trump has ordered him to keep TSA shut down and keep the chaos.
