@THEChrisKessell It becomes an inhibitor to their development when it doesn’t have to be.

@THEChrisKessell Great coaching vision to get them comfortable with bigger kids. The 11-14 age range has so many different size kids as they all grow at different points.
Sometimes I see the smaller ones resort to playing for fouls instead of learning to use their size and speed.

@THEChrisKessell I remember a guy complaining that his son’s team from Houston was playing in the finals of a tournament in Orlando against a club team from Houston.

Track parents…why didn’t you warn us about how terrible it is?!? I’ve been every kind of sports mom there is, but track is kicking my butt. Nobody knows exactly what time any event starts, so you just show up and sit around for HOURS waiting for your child to compete for less than 10 minutes. I should never have complained about soccer 😩😆

@WorldWideWob Like the time I was running sound at a concert and stepped on the power strip button.

@wbridgefa @CoachMarcusHill That’s awesome. I want Rush to. He would be the only one.
We get a pole vault setup (used) next year. He’s going to try that.

@BDemps @CoachMarcusHill ❤️❤️❤️
Next year Sam is throwing javelin. Why? Because nobody else is.

@wbridgefa @CoachMarcusHill Had a kid from another school come to a meet a few weeks ago. Had never jumped in a competition. I told him, “Today you will get your first official jump on record.”
Normally start at 5’2”. I knew he couldn’t do it. We started at 4’2”. Success. Last week he jumped 4’6”. Progress
English

@wbridgefa @CoachMarcusHill Yep. It’s why I really like track. Everyone there to help and support one another.
When I showed up at a home meet, they asked me to run the jumps. One of the other coaches showed up and I said, “Will you run it with me so I can learn how to do it.”
He taught me everything.

@wbridgefa @CoachMarcusHill At the third meet of the season, there were two coaches from two other schools that were running the high jump event.
Their sons were the best two jumpers at their schools. All three dads were volunteer coaches because of their sons.
English

@wbridgefa @CoachMarcusHill Last year we discovered that my son was pretty good at high jump. The track team didn’t have anyone to help him with jumps.
So I volunteered.
That’s how it goes.

@TimelessTrvlr I’m over at OKI right now. We will head over in a couple days.

Our new shop is down the street from where I went to school.
There’s a track meet going on this afternoon.
Dan’s giving a lesson and I’m in the office listening to the track results.
It’s a totally new feel for us over a corporate office park situation.
Small town community vibes are unmatched.

I would have flipped the approach. Get the focused passing work in the first half. Then be creative with positioning the second half.
Our situation is slightly different. New team was added to our division. Their actual skill is probably 2-3 divisions lower.

@BDemps What age group?
Why do you feel it was a waste of time?
