I think some of the best writing advice is to just keep writing. With every project you get better. Each draft sharpens the knife.

@SDDonovan Outlining has saved me from writer's block more times than I can count. 😂😂 And don't even get me started on the sense of direction it gives as well, can't recommend it enough

@SDDonovan I used to do the "make it up as I go" thing until I realized I never finished anything that way. Now I envision the finale to a story, then start to fill in the broad strokes of how we get there, then shorthand the character choices that lead to those broad strokes...

@KyleLeeWriter I loved creative writing at school (if I was allowed to choose the topic), but I'd say Belgarath the Sorcerer by David Eddings was the real spark for me.

@SDDonovan It's definitely expressed in parts. Every character has roots in personal experiences. Still a WIP though.

If you aren't building something that leads to the life you want, even if it's "only" 30-60 minutes a day, you will by default stay in the same life you're in, building things that allow others to live the life they want. 30 minutes can, in fact, start the snowball.
