We are saddened to hear of the passing of longtime conservative activist David Keene. The former Chairman of the American Conservative Union and veteran of many conservative campaigns, David earned a reputation as one of our nation’s premier political strategists. David was a close friend of our late Chairman Mike Long. As such, he was a frequent guest at Conservative Party events at which many of our activists enjoyed spending time listening to stories of the “old days” involving the Buckley family, President Reagan, Barry Goldwater and so many others who formed the modern conservative movement. A front-line observer and participant in the conservative movement from the 1960’s until his death, David was a sought after speaker and advisor. David was truly a giant in the conservative movement and will very much be missed. May He Rest In Peace!
