Let's talk about Banish. 👋 "Banish" is @Tesla's complete end-to-end parking solution: you're dropped off at your destination, exit the vehicle, and it drives away to park. When it's time to leave, the vehicle finds its way back to you in all conditions. We've received a few dozen replies and DMs inquiring about why Banish is missing from Full Self-Driving V14.3. We believe Tesla is close, but is waiting to see how this update's improvements perform before considering releasing Banish to customers. For Tesla to release Banish, parking has to be perfect. You need to have the confidence that your vehicle will efficiently and safely select an appropriate parking spot. It has to navigate all lane types to avoid blocking other drivers and ADA spots (if applicable to you). Full Self-Driving V14.3, released today, includes two details about parking improvements: 1️⃣ Increased decisiveness of parking spot selection and maneuvering. 2️⃣ Improved parking location pin prediction, now shown on a map with a P icon. These two improvements are paramount to further improving end-to-end parking, and we expect Tesla will analyze data and experiences in the coming weeks to determine an appropriate release timeline. We give a rough timeline of May to June for the initial Banish release. We'll re-evaluathesete this projections and timelines for the Banish release once we've observed the improvements in today's release.

@FSDyinzer @MyTeslaMoonship After watching a few loops, I think it should’ve been obvious *sooner* to the driver in the red car that the Tesla wasn’t turning. “Never blindly trust another driver’s turn signal” was one of the first things I learned about driving.

@MyTeslaMoonship Very early blinkers will cause people to jump out in front of you bc they think you’re turning when you’re not. I hope Tesla and “reasoning” fix the blinker timing. I see this happen all too often.

FSD prevented a wreck. My MYP was full of people and we were heading to our next stop. The blinker was on for the upcoming turn lane. A red car pulled out in front of us and stopped. FSD kept us safe. I grabbed the wheel after FSD completely stopped out of instinct.

Here's everything that's new: • Improved parking location pin prediction, now shown on a map with a P icon. • Increased decisiveness of parking spot selection and maneuvering. • Rewrote the Al compiler and runtime from the ground up with MLIR, resulting in 20% faster reaction time and improving model iteration speed. • Enhanced response to emergency vehicles, school buses, right-of-way violators, and other rare vehicles. • Mitigated unnecessary lane biasing and minor tailgating behaviors. • Improved handling of small animals by focusing RL training on harder examples and adding rewards for better proactive safety. • Improved traffic light handling at complex intersections with compound lights, curved roads, and yellow light stopping - driven by training on hard RL examples sourced from the Tesla fleet. • Upgraded the Reinforcement Learning (RL) stage of training the FSD neural network, resulting in improvements in a wide variety of driving scenarios. • Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, improving understanding in rare and low-visibility scenarios, strengthening 3D geometry understanding, and expanding traffic sign understanding. • Improved handling for rare and unusual objects extending, hanging, or leaning into the vehicle path by sourcing infrequent events from the fleet. • Improved handling of temporary system degradations by maintaining control and automatically recovering without driver intervention, reducing unnecessary disengagements. @teslavangelist Pretty sure we paid a “Tesla tax” but the guy was local, came out at 5pm on Friday and got it done in ~45 minutes. And it’s still cheaper than supercharging.

has anyone had an electrician install a 240v charger for less than $500? mine cost maybe $1500 I think to install, although for mine I needed like 30' of copper cabling which was like $500 or so itself.
