I would anticipate the Bulls, and Graham specifically, going after a young head coach with a similar mindset when it comes to player development and connecting the organization as a whole from roster to coaches to front office.

Many around the league thought Timberwolves GM Matt Lloyd was the top pick for Chicago, but Bryson Graham is an excellent choice. He is one of the best, young talent evaluators in the league and brings a wealth of experience with him to a Bulls team that needs new energy.

Graham, 39, has been known across the NBA for a tremendous scouting eye and being part of successful finds in the draft and player acquisitions during his tenure with the Pelicans and Hawks. The Bulls conducted in-person interviews with candidates last week and mulled over three finalists — Graham, Detroit Pistons senior vice president Dennis Lindsey and Minnesota Timberwolves general manager Matt Lloyd — over the weekend before deciding on Graham on Monday.

Zavion Thomas with one of the lowest drop rates in this rookie class.
The Bears had one of the higher drop rates in the league last year.
I’m not about to hype Zavion as a big time pick, but this pick makes a lot more sense than “analysts” said the time.

Here’s where I’m at with Austin Booker:
I can totally see Booker blossoming in a star edge rusher in like 1-2 more years. The problem is he’s currently the only dlineman on our roster with even a remote chance at that kind of upside.
On top of that, even if Booker does become a star edge rusher, we still need a good enough DT room to help Booker out. Star Booker at edge won’t be enough by himself. That’s why the Raiders and Cowboys consistently have mid/below average dline play even though they’ve had one star dlineman for the past few years.
