Not gonna lie -- after that post-game interview from High Point coach Flynn Clayman, I hope Arkansas runs them out of the gym. We'll also see how eager he is to schedule mid-majors at his next job.

The first two days of March Madness last year were a little slow But it made up for it this year…Miami, High Point, VCU

@RealFakeBlake Media loves other media. The public sees the ridiculousness of it and it may actually make many sympathetic to Pope. I am on this despite being critical of him to this point. That criticism today is just petty bs

Mark Pope has said and done a hundred stupid things this season but the only one to get real attention is the harmless one where he criticized the media.

High Point University in NC, which beat Wisconsin in basketball today, conducts campus tours on golf carts, offers wealthy students private housing for $40,000 per year and built an "airplane-cabin interior" so that students could rehearse sitting next to an executive on a plane.

@cammillerfilms It is about not being a home arena for a top school but still being centrally located for many tournament teams.

It is not lost on me that Greenville, SC, population about 70K, gets an NCAA Tourney game...but Cincinnati can't seem to figure out how to refurbish/build an arena to get in on the action again.

If Trump really wanted to be next level hilarious and cause widespread aneurysms amongst the TDS crowd he should have said, "Did the Germans warn us before they bombed Pearl Harbor?" Not a single one of them would have gotten the joke, and half of them would have passed out from apoplexy.

Flynn Clayman: "High Point and Miami (Ohio) are 2-0 in Quad 1 games. We couldn't get games. They couldn't get games. Akron couldn't get games. UNCW couldn't get games. Belmont couldn't get games. We won 22 of our 23 last games, and we didn't move up one spot in the metrics..."
Awful Announcing@awfulannouncing

High Point HC Flynn Clayman: "It looks pretty obvious to me that high-majors need to play mid-majors early in the season. Because they said we didn't play nobody. We played somebody now... Nobody would play us. Just like they wouldn't play Miami (Ohio)."

The reason Mark Pope's comments get dissected so much now is because he's had so many weird comments this season. The elite coaches I've spent any time around are highly effective, usually efficient, communicators.

@KyleTuckerCBB If Pope were winning at a higher level it would be like Phil Jackson the Zenmeister. Pope gets to the elite 8 and it will suddenly be a non issue or a cool thing.

@KenSlackBledsoe I think Calais a jerk but Mitch Barnhart is looking like one too. I could believe something today that I didn’t think about a month ago. Barnhart is nasty person and working for him would probably suck pretty bad.

Because Arkansas has Prime Cal again. He was never "washed"; any fall-off at Kentucky is largely bc fans and admin weren't pulling in the same direction. They were actually knee-capping him and trashing players. Now the game is fun again and Arkansas fans and admin are All In.

I’m sure there’s some out there but it’s quite interesting the only people I really see having a problem with what Pope said are the media. Hmmm wonder why that is 😆

American logs into her federal student aid account so we can see her actual loans and payments - She took out a $49,548.74 loan - She’s made 120 payments, paying $25,558.36 - Her current balance is $50,121.33 So after paying $25,558.36, she now owes more than she took out “It's all such a scam”

If I were advising Mark Pope (which I’m not), I would’ve told him to say something like “The only thing I’m worried about right now is our next game and my players who want to be at Kentucky. Next question?” There’s no point in confirming it if it’s true or denying if it’s not. He’s not going to call a player a liar publicly. Also, did the reporter ask UK for a response from Pope before he posted the story? If not, he should have. A good journalist gets both sides of a story even if one side is only “No comment.”
Matt Jones@KySportsRadio

Mark Pope was asked about a quote from Yaxel Lendeborg that he was offered between $7-9 million by Kentucky He doesn’t answer the question and does media commentary instead

This is so misguided from Pope that it's not even funny, it's moronic. This isn't just some unnamed report from a questionable media member. Yaxel Lendeborg literally said himself to the AP that he was offered 7-9M. What are you even talking about, dude?
