You may be right that he’ll never win a national championship. But actual terrible coaches lose more games than they win and he has not done that.

Alex Golesh had the same odds of winning a national championship at South Florida that he has right now at Auburn.
Zero. He could have a job at Ohio State or Alabama and the odds would still be zero. Because he’s a terrible coach.

@WhittsBurner Obviously preseason rankings are lame. Oklahoma ended up being mediocre that year yes, but a 12-1 team returning the Heisman winner is the team BYU faced until BYU knocked him out in the 2nd half. BYU didn't face the mediocre team from the rest of the season.

4 of their 5 losses were by a combined 12 points. They also had the #1, #3 and #4 draft picks in the following draft. They were still a very talented team but their Heisman QB got hurt in this BYU game

The problem with going to small college towns would probably have been accommodating tens of thousands of out of town fans and getting them to and from the game.

My “US hosting the World Cup” take is that it would have been much better to host them in smaller college towns that regularly have 100k spectators for football 🏈 games - would have been more “American” and this communities would have gone all out to be spectacular hosts.

During our worst 5 year run in the last 30 years they have to find a video from 4-5 years ago to latch on to after their QB was air balling guys in a 7 on 7 scrimmage😂

@ADreamTooSoonF1 @CFBKings True. We kinda lucked into winning it in 2015 by playing BU, TCU, and OSU backup QB’s. Twas a great game that year in Waco! The only game I’ve been to McLane
But that’s why I also mentioned the following 5 years where OU continued to dominate the conference

@BQ_Sports @CFBKings Squeaked out a win against a freshman back-up QB and third string QB. If BU’s starting QB didn’t break his neck, sky was the limit for 2015 Baylor. OU had Baker Mayfield, was a great game.
