An OPEN LETTER TO THE NATIONAL MEDIA; Where is Your Spine? To the Editors, Anchors, and Newsrooms of India’s National Media, As the fourth pillar of our democracy, you are supposed to be the fierce guardian of civil liberty and institutional accountability. Your duty is to question power, not shield it. Yet, today, your silence and selective coverage tell a deeply troubling story of abdication. The education system of our country is in shambles, crippled by systemic mismanagement. We are witnessing an era of continuous paper leaks and shabby, profit-driven deals that completely disregard the sweat and blood of honest students. This isn't just a administrative failure; it is a human tragedy. Desperate, disillusioned, and broken by a rigged system, students across the country are being forced to die by suicide. Where is your outrage? Where is your relentless pursuit of accountability from the Government? While the future of India's youth burns, student and youth organizations like the NSUI and IYC have taken to the streets. They have launched nationwide protests, brave police crackdowns, and demanded what any functioning democracy requires: accountability and the immediate resignation of the Education Minister. Yet, your cameras remain turned away. Your prime-time debates ignore the dust and determination of the streets. Instead, you choose to give unprecedented coverage and relentless hype to CJP, a social media movement. Let’s be honest: had you given even **5%** of the coverage you showered on CJP to the Youth Congress and NSUI protests taking place on the ground across the nation, the sheer weight of public pressure would have forced the Education Minister out by now. This glaring disparity begs the question: **Why this double standard?** Are you being ordered to look away from the NSUI and IYC protests? Is grassroot dissent too uncomfortable for your studios to handle? The youth of India are watching. Your selective amnesia is costing lives and destroying futures. It is time to stop acting as megaphone for distractions. Show some spine, remember your journalistic ethics, and for once, act like the independent fourth pillar of democracy you were meant to be. Sincerely, - The Citizens and Youth of India @nsui @IYC @RahulGandhi @IndiaToday @TimesNow @ndtv @CNNnews18 @ABPNews @aajtak
