The Left simultaneously argues: - all immigration is economically beneficial and culturally enriching - immigrants are poverty stricken and we’re morally rotten if we don’t spend a fortune on them Their deliberately dishonest thinking will bankrupt us.
Emily Thornberry@EmilyThornberry

Half of all migrant children currently live in poverty - an already shameful statistic. But the Earned Settlement model will see that poverty prolonged for 90,000 children in working migrant families. That's why my community says the Government must think again.

See, the thing about subversives is they're very fond of playing games with language, and there's a fascinating language game being played here. Bengali, Pakistani and Jamaican are all ethnic and national groupings, he takes care to separate them and mention them by name according to their corresponding ethnic and national categories. Then, there's "White guys". This is neither ethnic nor national, it's frankly barely even racial, it's a colour. It could be Polish people, Latvians, Romanians, but no, you know who he means. He means English people. In deliberately omitting the ethnic and national label for the people he is speaking of he sends a clear, rather important message. Bengalis, Pakistanis and Jamaicans are real, they are from their respective nations and hold claim to them even while living in England. YOU however, "White guy", do not. You are not real, your ethnic group is fake and you have no claim over this land in which you reside. You are not "English", because that would imply origin and claim over England, which he wants. No, you are just "White" just as somebody French would be "White" or somebody Polish would be "White". This applies to all of them too. The reason this is important is also made clear in the language game people like this have been playing for a while, which is also played in this video, "Heh, back to where I'm from? You mean... SHEFFIELD???" It's a claim, the claim is that he holds equal right to claim origin in this land as you do. However, you will of course note that YOU could never hold claim to Bangladesh because YOU are not "Bengali", you're just a "White guy", someone with no homeland who must share his space, resources, time and effort with anybody who arrives here. On top of this, he has the nerve to demand that those same "White guys", whose ethnicity he wont even utter in the same breath as his own, work WITH him to make it easier for him to sap up your space, resources, time and effort. The same people who devote large swaths of time complaining about past colonialist expansions posit that, despite YOUR family being here for 1000 years and theirs for just 40, he has claim over your ancestral home and resources, because you're just a "White guy", not a Bengali, Pakistani or Jamaican like him. This is textbook and frankly pathetic subversion, it demands that you don't notice that he denies your very existence while begging to stay in your land, stamping his feet that he's "From Sheffield, really guys!" Of course, at the same time, letting you know that HE'S Bengali, from Bangladesh and that YOU should apologise for the racism and colonialism his people underwent. It's a very tiresome and constant wave of subversive, overly emotive slop that fundamentally reveals a deep malice to the English as a people.

The moment you finally realise you’re leading the most authoritarian government in our country’s history: 1️⃣ Introducing an official definition of “anti-Muslim hostility” that silences legitimate criticism of religion — 18 years after Parliament abolished such laws. 2️⃣ Removing the right of most defendants to have a jury trial, in the biggest assault on English liberty in over 800 years. 3️⃣ Requiring pub landlords to monitor customers’ private conversations to protect staff from remarks, comments, or jokes they may find “offensive”. 4️⃣ Clamping down on lawful social media posts, arresting an Irish comedian for gender-critical tweets and even threatening to ban access to X in the UK. It’s not a great look, is it, Prime Minister…

Five years ago, hundreds of Islamists protested at the gates of Batley Grammar School all because a teacher showed a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad during a Religious Education lesson. Within days, he was forced into hiding. Threatened with death. His family targeted and children forced to miss school. Five years on. He is STILL in hiding. Still living in fear. In Britain. And what’s changed? Instead of defending free speech, Labour are now debating new definitions of “anti-Muslim hostility” and appointing a tsar to police it. This amounts to blasphemy law by the back door and it will have a significant and chilling effect on how people live. Labour councils in the north of England have issued advice to teachers warning that children’s drawings may be deemed “idolatrous” under sharia law. That music and dance lessons might breach religious expectations. Teachers are effectively being told to be careful. Children risk being labelled blasphemous for drawing a nativity scene.
No religion should be above the law. No belief should be beyond criticism. The Batley teacher was cleared of any wrongdoing and an independent report said he was badly let down. But it didn’t matter. His life was already torn apart. His children forced out of school. His family still in hiding. So ask yourself, if this happened again today, would anything be different? Or would we fail him all over again? We must stand up for our teachers.
We must defend children.
We must say no to extremism and no to blasphemy laws in Britain. We MUST fight for free speech.

Ed Miliband has a cult-like conviction in his own climate ideology. He is incapable of admitting that he is wrong – even with mountains of evidence stacking up against him. As the world gets more dangerous, his anti-North Sea fanaticism is making Britain weaker and poorer. Unfortunately, as more and more people sound the alarm, Miliband only becomes more convinced by his own righteousness. Today, the Conservatives will force a vote in Parliament calling for the emergency approval of the Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas fields in the North Sea – two fields that could be up and running by the end of the year. Turning our backs on domestic gas that could heat millions of homes would be madness in normal times, but it is sheer lunacy in the midst of a gas supply crisis. In government, I legislated to protect North Sea oil and gas licences and I approved Rosebank, even though I was told it would have put my own personal security at risk from climate extremists. It was controversial at the time, but to say times have changed would be an understatement. From the wind lobbyists at RenewableUK to the chair of Great British Energy - Miliband’s “clean energy” propaganda outfit - the head honchos of the green lobby say we should drill. The great and good of the Labour Left, from the Tony Blair Institute to the unions and Ed Balls, say so, too. The relative geopolitical stability we have had for most of my adult life is not something we can bank on in the years ahead. We need to pass on a country to the next generation that is strong and prosperous. That means making economic decisions based on rationality, not ideology. The North Sea is a blessing for our economy. When gilt markets are charging you a premium because they think we’re borrowing too much and earning too little, it is incumbent on the Exchequer to make the most of all growth opportunities we have. It is a blessing for our energy security, with the gas making up half of our domestic supply. But it is also a blessing for our environment, as the North Sea is much cleaner than importing LNG from abroad. However, for Miliband to admit this would expose the intellectual fraud at the heart of our net zero climate policy. Miliband’s agenda rests on the absurdity that carbon emissions only matter if they happen domestically. It incentivises the replacement of British industry with dirtier imports from abroad. The fact that North Sea gas displaces dirtier LNG doesn’t matter to our climate bean counters because foreign LNG imports aren’t counted in our domestic emissions targets. This is Net Zero irrationality in a nutshell. Fewer jobs in Britain for more carbon in the atmosphere – and yet to the religiously fervent, they will argue that this is Britain’s example of climate success. This is fantasy thinking we cannot afford. We must fast-track Rosebank and Jackdaw and lift the onerous bans and taxes on the North Sea to back Britain’s energy security. Kemi Badenoch knows it and Keir Starmer knows it. Unfortunately, so far, only one of them has had the courage to say so.
